The Mac Pro just received a $365 increase in Apple’s trade-in program, the largest single bump in the latest update to U.S. estimated values. Every iPad category and most Mac categories received higher maximums, so if you’ve been weighing an upgrade, the numbers just shifted in your favor.
The update follows a previous increase in September and arrives alongside Apple’s announcement of a new iPad mini, with new Mac launches reportedly on the horizon.
What Changed and by How Much
The Mac lineup saw the most substantial movement, while iPad increases were more modest.
The five largest increases, according to Apple’s trade-in page:
- Mac Pro: up to $2,560 (up $365)
- Mac Studio: up to $1,700 (up $240)
- MacBook Pro: up to $1,435 (up $120)
- MacBook Air: up to $795 (up $90)
- iPad mini and iPad: up to $340 and $300 respectively (each up $20)
iPad adjustments ranged from $10 to $20, with the iPad Pro gaining the least at $10 and the standard iPad and iPad mini each picking up $20. The iPad Air added $15, reaching a new maximum of $525. The iMac rose $55 to $440, and the Mac mini gained $25 to reach $645. The iMac Pro is the one category that held steady, remaining unchanged at up to $340.
The Fine Print Worth Knowing
Maximum estimates and actual offers are two different things, and the gap matters.
These figures are maximums, not guaranteed payouts. Apple’s final offer depends on the device’s condition, year, and configuration; you’ll need to submit your device details before receiving a precise quote.
iPhone, Apple Watch, and Android trade-in values were not adjusted in this update. The current maximum for an iPhone 17 Pro Max sits at $885, and the Apple Watch Ultra 3 tops out at $430. Both figures carry over from the prior update, according to 9to5Mac.
What to Do With This Information
Checking Apple’s trade-in page takes two minutes and could meaningfully change your upgrade math.
Trade-in credit applies toward a qualifying Apple purchase or gets issued as an Apple Gift Card. This is the second trade-in increase within two months, following the September update.
If you’re planning a Mac or iPad purchase soon, checking your current device’s estimated value before buying is a practical first step.
