Giving a full HD experience, the ViewSonic VX2457 can handle any game mode. Designed with gamers in mind, Viewsonic crams in as much tech as possible to ensure low input lag along with the best quality an LCD monitor can offer. With Flicker-Free technology and a blue light filter already preinstalled, the VX2457 earns its spot on our list for best monitor for eyes and best gaming monitor. Speaking of the list, see which monitors earned a spot on our list of the best computer monitors.

Why We Like It – ViewSonic VX2457-MHD

The ViewSonic VX2457 offers a premium gaming experience for a low price. Paired with AMD Freesync, you’ll be able to see every small detail any game can throw at you.

  • AMD FreeSync allows for tear free video
  • Useful beyond gaming
  • Response time is lightning fast
  • Stand is unstable
  • Best picture does not come out of the box, messing with settings is advisedv

Performance-wise, the ViewSonic VX2457-MHD does what many other high-end led monitors do for less. The VX2475 MHD comes with AMD Freesync technology, allowing games to look even smoother, and paired with a strong enough graphics card, almost like life. Customizable programming allows users to take advantage of black stabilization, letting them see even in the darkest of corners, a feature that will surely give them the edge in competitive games. To top it off, the VX2457-MHD does this all with low power consumption, much as you’ll see in our ViewSonic VX2460H LED 24 monitor write-up.

Viewing Angle

Usually, TN panels have a considerably harder time with viewing angles. However the VX2457-MHD mitigates this with its black stabilization technology. This means you’ll be able to see more at different angles compared to other TN panels. However, to get the best out of this option, some fiddling around is required. There will be some blurs around the edges out of the box, it’ll be up to the buyer to determine what settings they like best. However, if you don’t want to spend time fine-tuning your settings, the BenQ GW2280 Eye Care is a suitable option.

Were it not for the fact that it is VESA compatible the ViewSonic VX2457-MHD would be in a lot of trouble, the provided stand that comes with the monitor does not feel secure at all, and can only adjust its rotation. Other monitors like the ViewSonic VA2855SMH have a much more secure stand that poses no risk of falling over while offering full rotation. Usually, when people make an investment they prefer that it doesn’t feel like a stray gust of wind will knock it over. This may be a dealbreaker if you don’t already have a VESA mount you can use for the monitor.

Coming in with a DisplayPort, HDMI and VGA port, the ViewSonic VX2457-MHD chooses connectivity over utility. There are those out there who prefer port selections like this, however, for those who plug their accessories through the monitor, they’ll be out of luck as this one offers none whatsoever. What it does include however is an HDMI cable and a VGA cable, so connecting to your rig is simple and easy. If you absolutely must have a more diverse port selection, the ASUS ROG SWIFT PG279Q is a good starting point.

The quality of the included stand, fortunately, does not bring the rest of the ViewSonic VX2457-MHD into question. Stand aside, this monitor is more than worth the cost. Offering a quality picture that other monitors charge double for, alongside including FreeSync, a feature that for many, determines whether or not they buy a monitor at all. Whatever game you run, this monitor is more than capable of displaying at the highest quality. v

ViewSonic VX2457-MHD Wrap Up

Lacking in some areas, excelling in all the rest, the ViewSonic VX2457-MHD offers an experience that’s hard to beat for the price. While it’ll take some adjusting to get the best picture, and a VESA mount is preferred over the standard base, once you get everything in order, this monitor delivers on everything it promises. Rapid response times, Freesync taking your graphics to the next level, all on a full HD screen. For $129, the ViewSonic VX2457-MHD is a no-brainer choice.
