It may not be the best car dolly, but this two-piece wheel dolly set by Performance Tool is a decent choice if you need to move vehicles with larger wheels (up to 14″) that are not too heavy (under 4,000 lbs. total weight/1,000 lbs. per dolly). This dolly places an emphasis on simplicity over performance, but it does have swivel ball bearing casters for easy multidirectional movement. This will make moving heavy vehicles a lot easier and safer..

Why We Like It – Performance Tool W54013

The Performance Tool W54013 wheel dolly is the perfect product for moving vehicles with large tires (up to 14”) that are also lightweight. The unique design of these dollies ensures that you won’t have to worry about your vehicle rolling off of the dolly.

Pros
  • Easily Move Your Car, Riding Mower, Trailer, Or ATV In Any Direction
  • Works With Wheels Up To 14”
  • Makes Storage, Routine Servicing, & Restoration Easier
Cons
  • Low Weight Capacity (1,000 lbs. per dolly)
  • No Brakes
  • You May Want To Lubricate The Wheels Before Using The Dollies

Performance

These dollies, complete with iron swivel ball bearing casters, have a fairly low weight limit at only 1,000 lbs. per dolly (for comparison, our #1 pick, the 5060 Tire Skates Bearings Moving, has a 1,500 lb. capacity per dolly). They won’t be useful for heavier vehicles, but they do support larger wheels than most comparable dollies (up to 14″). The casters can be pushed in any direction, so you should find them easy to use, but unfortunately, they lack brakes, so that could be a potential safety issue if used on an inclined surface. Design

These dollies have a simple look to them, offering a concave surface that supports tires up to 14″, which is mounted on cast iron swivel ball bearing casters. Each skate has four 3″ casters. These casters lack brakes, so if brakes are an important feature for you, opt for the Inches Premium Skates Bearings Furniture instead. The overall size of these dollies is 23 1/2″ x 15 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. They are lightweight, weighing only 1.9 pounds, but the unique design of these dollies severely limits the load that they can support.

Value

The price of these dollies isn’t really a great selling point. You only get two dollies for $92.89 (the WEN 73017 Vehicle 1500 Pound Capacity is a cheaper wheel dolly set that only costs $46.11), and they can only support 1,000 lbs. per dolly. They do, however, come with free shipping, so that’s a plus. They also offer a limited warranty that covers failure or defects while under normal use, but they only provide a mailing address to reach them at (no phone number or email address).

Performance Tool W54013 Wrap Up

The Performance Tool W54013 dolly set could be a good choice for you if you have a lightweight vehicle with larger tires. They have a 4.7/5.0 rating on Amazon, so customers appear to be happy with their purchases. That said, they only support up to 1,000 lbs. per dolly & lack caster brakes, so you could easily find a pair of dollies that support up to 1,500 lbs. with brakes for less.
