On September 18, 2026, you could order an iPhone 18 Pro in Mumbai or Bengaluru and have it in your hands before your coffee cooled. Blinkit, Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, and BigBasket all listed Apple’s new flagship for ultra-fast delivery, with some customers receiving their devices in roughly 10 to 15 minutes. Interest in pre-order records for flagship devices has been building across the industry ahead of this launch.
That is faster than most pizza deliveries. It is also something that essentially does not happen anywhere else in the world.
Dark Stores, Dense Networks, and 300 Phones Before 9 a.m.
Four quick-commerce platforms raced to fulfill launch-day orders across major Indian metros, with results that surprised even seasoned retail watchers.
Blinkit covered the widest ground, offering the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max across all four color options and every storage tier (256 GB through 2 TB) in Delhi-NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Lucknow. Fulfillment ran through Apple Authorized Resellers Unicorn and Imagine, whose inventory fed directly into Blinkit’s dark-store network.
More than 300 iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max units moved through BigBasket in the first hour of sales alone. Sales opened at 8 a.m.; by 9 a.m., that works out to more than five devices per minute.
Swiggy Instamart reported Bengaluru leading its orders, followed by Delhi. Its top-selling variant was the Burgundy 256 GB iPhone 18 Pro, which accounted for nearly a third of its iPhone 18 Pro series sales.
Zepto also offered the Pro series in select cities, though availability varied by location and local stock. Within hours of launch, some apps and delivery zones showed the Pro series as sold out, while other areas continued to fulfill orders at speed.

Analysts Put the Launch in Context
Experts see launch-day iPhone deliveries as an early proof of concept for premium electronics on quick-commerce platforms, not a structural shift in how smartphones are sold.
The iPhone 18 Pro starts at Rs. 1,64,900. The Pro Max opens at Rs. 1,79,900. Delivering devices at that price point in under 15 minutes requires consumer trust built through years of routine orders for milk and shampoo.
Navkendar Singh of IDC India points to instant gratification and that accumulated app trust as the key drivers. He is also direct about the channel’s actual weight: quick commerce is not yet a meaningful share of total smartphone sales. It is, as he puts it, primarily a launch-day marketing tool.
The key question is whether this launch-driven demand can translate into regular smartphone purchases through quick-commerce platforms.

Apple’s primary channels in India remain its own retail stores, authorized retailers including Vijay Sales and Croma, and marketplaces like Amazon and Flipkart. Vijay Sales opened both physical stores and online sales at 8 a.m. on launch day, in step with quick-commerce platforms rather than displaced by them.
The Numbers Behind the Noise
The scale of India’s quick-commerce sector helps explain why platforms can credibly promise a flagship smartphone in under 15 minutes.
Quick commerce in India is not a niche experiment. According to Redseer, the sector’s GMV reached approximately $9 billion in the first half of 2026. Monthly transacting users climbed from 8 million in mid-2023 to over 60 million today.
A joint Google-Deloitte report projects that figure reaches $50 billion by 2030, with non-food categories, including electronics, comprising 40 to 45 percent of spending.
Whether an iPhone delivered in 10 minutes becomes a routine purchase or stays a launch-day spectacle depends on platforms solving harder problems. Consistent stock, fraud risk, and margins thin enough to sustain premium electronics outside headline moments are all unresolved. Smartphone owners looking to get the most from a new device will find that preparation matters as much as the purchase itself. For now, the infrastructure clearly works. The business case is still being written.
