The Epson EcoTank Pro ET-16650 is a powerhouse, capable of pumping out page after page without quality suffering, while also sweetening the deal with an amazing deal for the first two years of owning the machine. The Epson EcoTank Pro ET-16650 is all about performance, especially with its ink tanks. A set of replacement ink bottles have enough ink to output 7,500 uncolored or 6,000 colored—which color printing is lacking in the Brother HL-L2300D. It can easily handle 25 pages per minute without print quality suffering, like the Brother MFC-L3770Cdw Laser printer. If that is not fast enough, check out our Kyocera Ecosys P3155DN review for a printer that can get about 57 pages per minute.
That kind of performance can be used to your advantage, thanks to the large paper tray—or should we say “paper trays.” The Epson EcoTank Pro ET-16650 has two front trays and a rear tray for specialty paper. Its paper capacity holds up to 500 sheets of paper.
The Epson EcoTank Pro ET-16650 is an all-in-one printer that uses inkjet technology to do the work. It has a copier and scanner at the top, alongside an auto document feeder, fax, and printer (2-sided). You use a 4.3-inch color touchscreen to navigate, which is very clear and big enough not to be a hindrance—also being nearly twice as large as the touchscreen you’ll find in our Epson Expression XP 640 review.
There are two trays in the front, each holding 250 pages. When the ink runs out, there’s a refillable ink tank to use, which is typical of inkjet printers. And lastly, the Epson EcoTank Pro ET-16650 is Wi-Fi capable and has Ethernet.
The Epson EcoTank is an absolute monster, printing page after page. Its performance and quality are hard to pass on. This is especially true if you’re running a small business that deals with documentation frequently. If you’re looking for an all-in-printer for personal use, the HP OfficeJet 5255 might be more your speed.
And we can’t forget their 2-year program when you pick up qualifying EcoTank printers. Epson will reimburse you for the ink bottles you’ve purchased for the first two years. What’s also nice is ink bottles cost a fraction of the price compared to ink cartridges, further reducing the amount spent per page on ink. This program alone could make it the best Epson printer to have.
If you’re willing to pay the higher upfront cost, you won’t be disappointed with the Epson EcoTank Pro ET-16650. Even less so when you consider its performance, high-capacity paper trays, and Epson’s ink program. That kind of savings can be game-changing for someone running a business dealing with documents constantly. It’s well worth the initial asking price.
