What could possibly be the best curved monitor for people who have a budget, the Dell S3220DGF has specifications that allow people to play modern games with higher-end graphics. With its well above average refresh rate, hdr support, and curved screen, this monitor offers a lot despite its cheaper price. Speaking of offering a lot, check out some of the best computer moitors around and what they have to offer.

Why We Like It – Dell S3220DGF

The DELL S3220DGF has freesync technology to enhance the user’s experience and immersion, is g sync compatible in case the user wants to enhance the experience even further, and has a big, curved screen to get great angles with less interference from external sources of light.

Pros
  • Amazing refresh rate
  • Decent screen size
  • G sync compatible
Cons
  • Slower response time
  • May require recalibration

Performance

Having a LED screen that contains a va panel helps with the ability to support over a billion colors that it can display with a contrast ratio of 3000:1. It uses amd freesync technology that allows it to have a high refresh rate and frame rate without the need to sacrifice image clarity (or processing power) by using a different panel. Also, while it doesn’t contain g sync technology, it is at least g sync compatible.

Viewing Angle

Due to being a curved gaming monitor, it already has better viewing angles. The screen itself is a large, 32 inch LED screen to help the user get immersed in their game or movie. Keep in mind that calibration is one way to get the best color quality out of the monitor if you’re not satisfied with how the screen displays the colors. Since the screen is bigger than the Samsung C27HG70, which has a 27 inch screen, the immersion is more prevalent.

Durability

There is only one customer review on Amazon that reports that this monitor can get damaged easily somehow. However, it’s one of the only two negative reviews that this monitor has received on that site at the time of this gaming monitor review, with the other review talking about how the internal speakers didn’t work for the reviewer. Aside from those two reviews, there have been no durability issues in terms of Amazon selling the product.

Ports/ expandability

This monitor has 4 types of ports that the user can use: It has a headphone jack, DisplayPorts, HDMI ports, and USB 3.0 ports. In comparison, the Philips Brilliance 499P9H has 5 types of ports: HDMI, USB-C, a headphone jack, Ethernet, and USB 3.0. The Philips Brilliance also has the ability to charge items such as laptops, and while the Dell can be used to charge things too, it can’t charge anything nearly as power consuming as a laptop.

Value

It’s cheaper in price compared to some of the other gaming monitors like the Samsung CHG90 49-Inch Curved Ultrawide Monitor due to only having the more essential components that make a monitor efficient with modern gaming such as the lack of a webcam. The components were carefully chosen to avoid making the monitor more expensive, such as using a wide va panel instead of a wide ips panel of the same size. It’s also about $20 less on the Amazon website compared to its best buy price.

DELL S3220DGF Wrap Up

Despite having a response time of 4 ms, this monitor functions in a way that’s more than just good enough. As long as people remember that some of the better features have to be turned on through the monitor’s settings, they can adjust the colors and image quality if unsatisfied.
