As Canon puts it, the Canon TS5120 Wireless Inkjet All-in-one printer is a little printer that can print a lot. This best-selling printer comes from Canon’s range of TS printers and is designed for home use. With this model, Canon has placed a lot of effort into connectivity, as the Pixma TS5120 allows you to use a print app (Canon Print app) instead of a computer to get whatever you need done.

It also does a great job on borderless photos, and its duplex printing feature allows you to save some money on paper costs. It is for these reasons that the Pixma TS5120 Wireless Inkjet should pop up in your mind when you’re thinking about the best all-in-one printer. And if you are looking for a printer that has a printing slot for CD, DVD, or Blu-Ray printing, and allows you to use filters on your photos, then read our Canon Pixma TS9120 review.

Why We Like It – Canon TS5120

The Canon Pixma is a home-based printer that is among the least expensive in its category. It’s a three-function printer that features a 2.5-inch display, has an auto-duplexer for two-sided printing, and can hold two high-yield ink cartridges. The Epson Expression XP-640 is another compact option that quickly prints photos.

Pros
  • Two-sided printing
  • Lightweight and Compact
  • Affordably priced
Cons
  • No Automatic Document Feeder
  • No Ethernet

Performance

The Canon Pixma is almost at par with the HP OfficeJet 3830 at 8.3 pages per minute when dealing with text prints and 2.4 pages per minute when printing mixed graphics & text documents. However, if you want a high-performing printer, check out our Canon TS5120 Wireless Printer Scanner review. Or if you only need black and white, check out our Canon ImageClass MF424DW review.

The Pixma printer’s copy and scan speeds are also not disappointing. It makes a color copy in about 29.3 seconds, and for black and white, it takes around 14.4 seconds. The all-in-one printer delivers great print quality when printing text documents and also has both front and rear paper feeding ability, which brings its standard sheet capacity to 200 sheets.

Design

The Canon Inkjet all-in-one printer is a compact and lightweight printer that has a simple yet attractive design. The inkjet printer measures 5.8 by 16.8 by 12.5 inches and weighs 14.3 pounds, making it easy to carry around, unlike the Brother Monochrome Laser Printer. The Canon printer comes in either black or white and has a 2.5-inch display that isn’t a touchscreen. Despite this, the Pixma printer has a wide range of connectivity options as it can connect to a computer via USB, print from a mobile device through Bluetooth, or connect to a wireless network. The Canon printer can also work with the Canon print app for both printing and scanning, it supports Google Cloud Print, but it, unfortunately, doesn’t have Ethernet connectivity.

Value

As its name suggests, the TS5120 Wireless all-in-one printer seamlessly allows for wireless printing, which can be very convenient when you have your source files on your mobile device or in the cloud. Also, it’s advisable to use Canon genuine photo paper for the best results when photo printing. In terms of costs, printing documents on the wireless all-in-one printer will cost you 6.7 cents per page, while photo printing will be more expensive at 14.7 cents per color page. For more convenience, you should get the high-yield ink cartridges, but you should also know that the Canon Pixma can print in black & white when the color ink cartridge is empty. This Canon Printer also doesn’t have a touchscreen, unlike the HP Envy 5055, but it’s still easy to use and navigate.

Canon TS5120 Wrap Up

The Pixma TS5120 Wireless Inkjet is a great printer for all-round printing when at home, and its affordable price range doesn’t give you any reason to ponder too much on whether or not to purchase it. If you don’t want to spend too much and still want good value for your money, you won’t go wrong with this Pixma TS5120 from Canon.
