Do You Qualify?
Eligibility comes down to your model, your purchase date, and whether you were the original buyer.
To qualify, you must be a U.S. resident who purchased an eligible device in the United States. The purchase window runs from June 10, 2024, through March 29, 2025.
The purchase must have been for personal or professional use, not resale, and you must be the original purchaser. Eligible models include the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 16, and iPhone 16e. The iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max also qualify.

How to File Before the Deadline
Locating your device’s serial number is the step most claimants will need to handle before sitting down to file.
Start at SmartphoneAISettlement[dot]com and enter your name, address, and phone number. Your device’s serial number is also required; find it by opening Settings, then General, then About.
From there, select a payment method. Reported options for online filers include PayPal, Venmo, direct deposit, or check; mailed claim forms may be payable by check only.
Submit before Dec. 21, 2026, either online or by mailing a completed claim form postmarked by that date. One claim is required per device, and the settlement limits you to one cash payment per eligible iPhone.
How Much Will You Actually Get?
The expected figure is $25 per device, but the final amount is not guaranteed before court approval and claims processing are complete.
Valid claims are currently expected to receive $25 per eligible device, per CBS News reporting. The settlement sets a maximum of $95 per device, though reaching that figure is not certain.
The final amount adjusts based on total valid claims filed and the number of devices claimed across all claimants. Court-approved legal fees and administrative costs factor in as well.
What Happens After You File
Court approval in February 2027 stands between your claim and any payment.
A settlement-approval hearing is scheduled for Feb. 24, 2027, at the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in San Jose, though that date, time, and location are subject to change. No payments will be distributed until the court approves the settlement and any appeals are resolved.
