This is supposedly Blackberry’s yet to be released handset, the Z10, which is intended to save the company from their death spin. Unfortunately, I don’t have any hardware specs to divulge to you at this time, but from an aesthetics standpoint alone, it ain’t half bad. However, that isn’t to say it’s not a stinker in actual use, but that info is neither here nor there.
That being said, there isn’t anything too remarkable about the Z10. It looks kind of like a mashup between the iPhone 5 and a Droid RAZR. The screen has a rather thick border and looks underwhelmingly small. I’m sure RIM signed onto Apple’s philosophy about one-handed utility – aka a smaller screen – but we all know that’s not an entirely accurate assumption, at least across all users. Sure, maybe business users, but clearly RIM is trying to reach beyond that demo. After all, that’s kind of what got them into trouble; the company didn’t innovate and missed the proverbial boat when it came to full touchscreen devices and apps.
Anyway, don’t bother holding your breath, because at this point Blackberry is too far in the hole, and Android and iOS have too large of a lead for them to claw their way back.
