While looking for the best laptop with i5 processor, and the best laptop, you must’ve seen a lot of thin and light notebooks with touch screens. The HP Pavilion Touchscreen Laptop is one of the very few ultrabooks below $1000 that comes with a touch screen. And being an HP laptop, it features HP’s excellent build quality as well. But does it make the list of the best laptops? Read on to find out more.

Sale

HP Pavilion Touchscreen Laptop

Check Price

Why We Like It – HP Pavilion Touchscreen Laptop
The HP Pavilion Touchscreen Laptop is an excellent business laptop. As it is over two years old at this point, you shouldn’t have any problem finding this high end laptop for cheap prices. The battery life might not be that great, but pretty much everything else is excellent. Overall it’s a fantastic business computer with a touchscreen on a budget.

Pros

Full HD IR webcam for Windows Hello face unlock
 Good full-sized backlit keyboard
 Magnificent build quality

Cons

 Slow 5400RPM HDD

Power & Performance
The quad-core Intel Core i5-8250U inside is a very capable four core eight-thread CPU. But it doesn’t hold a candle to modern 10th Gen Intel processors, like the one found in the ASUS VivoBook S14 S433 ultrabook. The integrated graphics chip (UHD 620) is also pretty old at this point. See also our HP Pavilion 15.6 Laptop review for a laptop with a great display.
Battery
Even though it doesn’t have much power-hungry hardware inside, the battery life is pretty terrible, to say the least. And that is solely due to the tiny 41WHr 3-cell battery that HP packed inside. If you need good battery life, go for something like the Acer Aspire 5 A515 instead.
Ports & Expandability
The I/O is decently populated. You get two full-sized USB Type-A ports and one USB Type-C port. And you also get all the standard gigabit ethernet, HDMI, and combo jack. But best of all, you do get an SD card slot. There are multiple USB ports for you to connect numerous external hard drives.
Build Quality
The build quality is excellent from top to bottom. Everything starting from the hinge to the outer shell and the keyboard feels premium and durable. The trackpad is decent too, unlike the Dell G5 15 Gaming Laptop. The bezels are narrow and don’t intrude much. Go through our HP Pavilion 14 review for a lightweight laptop.
Value
Whether the HP Pavilion Touchscreen Laptop is a good value for money product depends entirely on the price you buy it for. At MSRP, there are a lot of better laptops available on Amazon.com itself, even some older ones with an Intel Core i7 processor inside. And the fact that this laptop doesn’t come with an Nvidia GeForce dedicated graphics card also doesn’t help. But, if you can find it at/below $500, it’s a great laptop to pick up.
HP Pavilion Touchscreen Laptop Wrap Up
All in all, the HP Pavilion Touchscreen Laptop is a good business laptop if you can find it at a reasonable price. Even though the hardware inside is pretty old now, it’s still very much capable.
