HP is a well known brand that commands almost a fifth of the printing market share. It’s able to do so thanks to reliable products like the HP Envy Wireless All-In-One inkjet printer. This home printer has an input tray that holds up to 100 pages, and an output paper tray that can hold 25 pages. It’s designed for printing on the standard A4 paper size, and comes with two ink cartridges. It has one for black ink, and another color ink cartridge. Read on to find out more of the features that make it the best all-in-one printer that you can buy.

Why We Like It – HP Envy 5055

The HP Envy wireless printer is a pocket friendly, easy to use alternative that delivers good print quality, and also allows you to copy and scan. It has a 2.2 inch mono touchscreen, supports duplex auto printing and works with the HP Smart App for printing through your mobile device.

  • Instant ink program guarantees reduced ink costs
  • Great design & print quality
  • Affordably priced
  • No Automatic Document Feeder
  • Slow printing speed

In terms of performance, this HP Printer functions at a print speed of 10 pages per minute for black and white printing, and 7 pages per minute for color printing. A lot of people would consider the HP Envy as having relatively low print speeds, but then again, this is to be expected from inkjet printers. Being a photo printer, the HP Envy churns out very high quality prints with vivid color thanks to its 1200 dpi print resolution. Unlike the HP 3830 however, the printer unfortunately does not have a fax functionality.

As most home printers should be, the HP Envy bears a modern, attractive design that is sure to fit in well with your home’s interior decor. The HP Printer is also more compact than the Brother Monochrome Laser Printer, with a small size that won’t take up much of your space. It’s top lid lifts up to allow for copying and scanning, while the fact that it doesn’t have an Automatic Document Feeder also helps maintain its small figure. The HP Envy measures 5 by 17.5 by 14.4 inches, and is controlled through its 2.2 monochrome display. Though some people might take some time to get used to the small screen, we found it to be up to task and easy to use.

If you go ahead and purchase this printer, you should consider subscribing to HP’s instant ink program. This program allows the printer to send feedback directly to HP about the levels of its black ink cartridge or tri color cartridge and order for refills whenever the ink levels are low. In terms of connectivity, the HP printer is capable of connecting to WiFi networks, and has support for third party apps such as Apple AirPrint, Mopria, and the HP Smart app. Its monthly duty cycle of 1000 pages is similar to that of the HP OfficeJet 5255, and is very good for low volume printing.

HP Envy 5055 Wrap Up

As you have seen in this printer review, the HP Envy is more than you need to be able to print, scan and copy from the comfort of your home. Assuming you only have low volume printing needs, then the HP Envy is a great pick for your home-based day to day use.
