Tonight is your last chance to prepare. Apple has set 9 p.m. Pacific Time on Thursday, October 15 as the cutoff to complete its “Get Ready” pre-order process for the iPhone Duo, the company’s first foldable iPhone. Demand is expected to rival the pre-order records set earlier this year.
What “Get Ready” Actually Does
Apple’s preparation system moves the configuration work out of the checkout window and into the night before.
The process lets you configure your order in advance, choosing color (star white or night sky), storage capacity (256GB, 512GB, 1TB, or 2TB), carrier, trade-in details, financing or leasing pre-approval, accessories, and payment and shipping information. Save those selections to your shopping bag before the deadline, and Apple says you can check out with a single click when pre-orders open.
The Three Dates That Matter

Pre-orders open at 5 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, October 16, through Apple’s website and the Apple Store app. The phone becomes available on Friday, October 23, across more than 70 countries and regions, with additional markets following on October 30, according to Apple’s launch announcement. Pricing starts at $1,999 for the 256GB model, or $83.29 per month for 24 months; the iPhone Duo runs iOS 27.1 and will be sold through Apple, select carriers, and partner retailers.
What Pre-Loading Actually Gets You
Completing the process early is a head start, not a guarantee.
Completing your configuration before the deadline does not guarantee your preferred color or storage tier will be in stock at 5 a.m. Arriving at checkout with everything pre-loaded may save meaningful time compared with selecting storage options and entering payment details while orders are already being placed.
