Key Takeaways

Key Takeaways

  • Play Destroy Any Website free, turning any pasted URL into a destructible 2D level.
  • Choose from seven weapons and blast pages until reaching a 100% destruction meter.
  • Support up to six players racing to hit a shared kill target in multiplayer rooms.

You know that website hiding its content behind a full-screen cookie banner, or the one that auto-plays video the second it loads. Now there’s something you can actually do about it, at least visually.

Hugo Duprez, a France-based design engineer affiliated with Craiyon, built a free browser game called Destroy Any Website. Paste any URL, and the game converts that page into a destructible 2D action level. Based on available descriptions, the webpage renders as a visual arena and no modification to the original site is documented.

Paste a URL, Start Shooting

Load a webpage, grab a weapon, and reduce it to pixel rubble.

Paste a URL directly into the game, or choose from built-in options including a demo page and Wikipedia. The game renders the page as a visual environment, turning text blocks, images, and interface elements into platforms and surfaces your stickman can run across.

Controls are straightforward: A/S/D or the arrow keys move your character, Space or W handles jumping and hovering, and the mouse aims and fires. Right-click throws a grenade.

Seven weapons are available: Pistol, SMG, Shotgun, Rocket, Railgun, Flamethrower, and the aptly named “Too Much,” which launches a projectile that releases multiple smaller bomblets on impact.

The solo objective is filling a 100% destruction meter by blasting enough of the rendered page into debris, sparks, smoke, and detached letters.

Six Players, One Shared Demolition

Multiplayer turns the destruction into a competition, with up to six players racing to hit a shared kill target.

One host opens a room for up to five friends, making six players total, and the objective shifts to a race to hit the room’s kill target.

Duprez built the game through his Sprite Fusion project, and the connection matters. Sprite Fusion is also a pixel-art tool, and Destroy Any Website doubles as a working demonstration of what that tool can produce, making it both a playable game and a showcase for the platform.

The visual style recalls the mid-2000s browser game era. Adobe ended Flash Player support on December 31, 2020, naming HTML5, WebGL, and WebAssembly as modern alternatives, and Duprez’s project captures that same no-friction immediacy without requiring Flash or any install.

What It Does Not Do

The game is built for desktop browsers only, and a few practical limits are worth knowing before you load up your least favorite site.

Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge are all supported, according to the game’s official page. The game is officially unsupported on mobile and designed for desktop keyboard-and-mouse play, so phones and tablets are out.

Results will likely vary depending on a given page’s structure and how well it renders inside the game’s environment. The developer has not documented specific compatibility limitations, so some pages may behave differently than others.

Destroy Any Website is free to play at spritefusion.com/games/destroy-any-website. Browser experiments can still carry the immediacy of the Flash era, and this one manages it without Flash.
