GTA 4 Update For PS3

Grandtheft Auto 4 Freezing Issues

By now you’ve probably heard about the ‘freezing problem’ in GTA4.  This has been experienced by both Xbox 360 and PS3 owners.  Personally, the game wouldn’t load a mission until after the 3rd or 4th attempt while playing on my 360.  A buddy of mine had the game freeze on him numerous times 5 minutes into casual play, also on the 360.  Nonetheless, according to a forum post on PS3Hax, Rockstar will begin issuing Grand Theft Auto 4 updates for the PS3 today.  Just start the game and the system will prompt you.

For slightly more info go here.  Details are vague so any comments confirming the update would be great!

So the question is: where’s the Xbox 360 update for both single and multiplayer?  And Rockstar, fix the damn Party Mode multiplayer setup.  Perhaps I wanna stay in the same room and play the same people instead of going through all this f’ing loading!

PS3 Movie Downloads (rumor)

According to a post on Slashdot (via the LA Times), Sony will begin offering movie and TV downloads via the PS3 starting this summer.  Do I care?  Not really, because I don’t own a PS3!

Grand Theft Auto 4 Leaked On Bit Torrent

GTA 4 Leaked

First and foremost, I don’t endorse downloading or trying to download a pirated copy of Grand Theft Auto 4. Why? A few reasons:

  1. The game is a mere 6 days away from release
  2. It’s a 6.32 GB file
  3. You may not get the full or complete game, which would just ruin the experience
  4. You can’t play it onlne
  5. And, it’s just 6 days away!

Now the reason you’re reading this post.  According to Kotaku, at 11:50am Geenwich time, a PAL (not NTSC) version of Grand Theft Auto 4 was distributed to various torrent sites.  You’ll have to download the game, burn it, and have a modded Xbox 360 to play it.  Furthermore, you’ll wanna unplug your Xbox from Live since Rockstar will be looking for you.

Good luck!

Coolboy Portable Emulates 8-bit & 16-bit NES Games

Coolboy Gaming Emulator

The days of 8-bit and 16-bit are far from gone thanks to the Coolboy portable gaming system. Looking cheap as all hell, this import will supposedly have you punched in to your old NES and Sega games by way of 120 games in 1 cartridge all displayed on a 2.4″ LCD. $36 for the Coolboy and $8 for the game cartridges - you can probably be playing the whole NES library for under $100. Look, it’s even got an A/V out!

Available here.

Remote Controlled Sumo Wrestlers

Remote Sumos

I don’t know why I like these, but I just do. Perhaps it’s the ‘Urban Outfitters’ marketing machine finally wearing off on me. Using the two button remote you can challenge a friend (or foe) to a sumo match. Just like the real thing, the goal is to knock the opponent off the mat. The manufacture gave these sumos massive feet for an additional tactical advanatage.

Available here for $30.

This Is The Future Of Foozball

Some things never get stale no matter how old I get. Foozball is a timeless game that will be played well into my arthritic years. The problem? The tables are often an eye sore after a few years of wear-and-tear, and are as uninspired as the candy machines sitting adjacent. The folks at GRO design and Tim modelmakers got the hint and have crafted the sleekest most polished foozball table EVER. Dubbed ‘11′, the table includes chrome polished players and an aesthetically pleasing shape to meet the standards of the most discerning of contemporary snobs.

Not available for purchase.

‘Star Wars: Force Unleashed’ Update

Yes, another video game update, but you’ll be glad you read it. Gametrailers got sometime with the project lead of ‘The Force Unleashed’, and he revealed that you’ll play a ‘board’ as Darth Vader as a sort of prologue to the game. And yes, you’ll be able to use Vader’s ‘force choke’.

Looks like we should now expect The Force Unleashed September 2008.

Official GTA 4 Multiplayer Tomorrow…maybe

GTA 4 Multiplayer

Looks like we might get a real look at GTA 4’s multiplayer tomorrow (April 8th, 2008). I’m not gonna hold my breath, though. Why? Because the actual game will be released in just 21 days!

Update: Here’s a summary of the GTA 4 multiplayer:

  • Up to 16 people can join a game
  • The full game runs in multiplayer (you can do everything)
  • You can mod/make your character’s look (no one gets to be Niko)
  • You collect cash for completing tasks and stealing it from other players - this is how you level up and win Team Death Match
  • The host can control traffic density, weather, time of day, and radio stations available
  • Modes: Team Deathmatch, GTA Race, Cops N Crooks, and Hangman’s NOOSE
  • You can ride and shoot while a partner drive (finally!)
  • For complete details and a small review go here.
