Google seems to want to have their hand in everything these days! They’ve recently ventured into the military robotics realm, buying eight of them in the last six months. They confirmed last Friday that their latest acquisition is Boston Dynamics, an engineering firm that has build and developed battlefield robots for the U.S. military. The price paid for the company is unknown, as is what Google plans to do with the robotic knowledge. But according to CNN Money, the purchase is part of Google’s big plan into a bigger push into the robotics filed that’s led by Andy Rubin, the guy behind the Android platform for Android defies. One of the robotics that Boston Dynamics has made is called the Cheetah, which currently has the record for the fattest legged robot in the world, as well as the Atlas robot that can move like a human.
