The next installment of Ubisoft’s Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell Blacklist, hits stores in just 7 days times (August 20th to be exact). And to drive interest they released a new trailer breaking down all of the gameplay options, features, and characters.
Suffice to say, this looks to be the most robust of Splinter Cells yet. In addition to your own flying estate (a giant plane), there is a variety of weapons, gameplay modes (co-op and multiplayer) and a plot that has the terrorists attacking every 7 days. You’ll traverse the world looking for the next insurgency and after a mission has been completed you’ll be rewarded with cash, allowing you to upgrade your weapons and gear. As you see fit you can attack in silence, avoid combatants as much as possible, or just go all out and blast your way through missions.
I was disappointed with the last Splinter Cell, so I’m holding judgement until the reviews are in. Which hopefully will include us, provided we can score a review copy from our friends at Ubisoft.
