Thieves are every where you look.  Odds are, though, you probably wouldn’t know it.  And hence the security measures added to the new $100 bill.  It will hit cash registers, or your pocket, no sooner than October 8th of this year, 2013.

Believe it or not(e), over a decade of research went into designing this bill, even though it looks very much like the past, or should I say current iteration.  That blue ribbon, which is very reminiscent of a blue marker, is said to enhance security, as it contains 100s that change to bells as you move it side to side.  It’s woven into the bill, fyi.  And that cooper, or orange-colored bell, tilt it and it will change from cooper to green, making it seem as if it disappeared.  A variety of past security measures have also been carried  over to the new bill, but the hope is to further thwart counterfeit artists and all the while provide added comfort to the few that uses actual currency.
