More unfinished Apple hardware leaked this week, but these are a little old –two iPod Touch prototypes with integrated cameras were put up for auction on eBay and then promptly removed. Remember that last fall, rumors abounded that the 3rd generation of the iPod Touch would feature a back-facing camera to allow the multitude of iPhone camera apps to work with the device. There were even cases made by third-party companies with a camera friendly design. But when the 3rd Gen Touch was unveiled, the camera was MIA. It’s purported that Apple couldn’t get the camera functionality perfect in time for their fall unveiling, so the feature was scrapped.

Will the next iPod Touch feature the mysterious camera? We’ll just have to wait to find out.
