The LG 27GP83B-B is a 27-inch display that was announced in 2021 as a mid-tier monitor. The monitor has a 1440p screen resolution, and even though its picture quality may not be as sharp as some of the best computer monitors on the market, it still ranks well compared to some of the highest-rated gaming monitors. This LG display has a decent 165Hz refresh rate that is slightly higher than the 144Hz of the LG 27GN880-B, and its support for HDR content makes it a better pick compared to the Lenovo Q27q-10. This LG monitor also boasts wide viewing angles and handles reflections well.

The LG 27GP83B-B is a mid-tier display that had reviewers pleased with its wide viewing angles and high 165Hz refresh rate, and as a result, they deemed it fit for both office use and gaming. However, its mediocre ergonomics and low contrast, issues that also plague the LG 27GP850-B, proved to be quite a letdown.

Consensus
our Verdict
The LG 27GO83B-B was commended by reviewers as an excellent pick for office use and gaming. Expert testers from Monitor Nerds were quite happy, especially with the wide viewing angles offered by its Nano IPS panel. They also did not come across any screen tearing during their tests courtesy of its impressive 165Hz refresh rate – something it has in common with the Lenovo Y27Q-20. Product reviewers from Rtings also liked how well the display handled reflections during their experiments. They also concluded that it would be a great pick for players since it had a super low input lag of 3.7ms, which allowed for rapid gaming responsiveness. Also praised was its wide color gamut, since after examining it, critics established that its 95.3% coverage of the DCI-P3 color space led to vivid imagery.
Still, the LG 27GP83B-B had a few issues that reviewers were not too happy about. They felt that its native contrast ratio of 745:1 was too low for dark room viewing and its inability to swivel severely limited its adjustability.
ReasonS to Buy
- High refresh rate
- Wide viewing angles
- Low input lag
