Customer service reportedly told the buyer the case was “still being reviewed.” The package was already heading back to a warehouse.
“Asus failed to fulfill my pre-order, initiated a return without my consent, and now I’m faced with the need to place a new order at a cost that exceeds my original pre-order by $500,” the Redditor wrote, via r/pcmasterrace.
This isn’t Asus’ first public stumble with customer handling. Gamers Nexus called out the company’s RMA practices in 2024 — loudly enough that Asus issued a formal apology. The company also reversed warranty language that threatened to void coverage for beta BIOS updates on Ryzen 7000X3D boards, after sustained public pressure forced its hand. The pattern is consistent: Asus course-corrects when the noise gets loud enough. It hasn’t gotten loud enough yet.
