If you prioritize clear sound and ANC, Sennheiser CX Plus earbuds are worth it, as they’re accurate and have great customization, but be prepared for some comfort and reliability trade-offs because they’re pricy, bulky, and have hypersensitive controls.

What Is Not on the Box

What the brand doesn’t always tell you…

our Verdict

The Sennheiser CX Plus True Wireless earbuds have great sound quality and support for SBC, AAC, and aptX codecs, making them a great choice for music lovers.

They have a large bass presence that delivers an added kick, but the mids and trebles aren’t as pronounced. The app allows users to fine-tune the EQ, adding to the audio customization options.

However, the earbuds are bulky and cause discomfort during extended use; the hypersensitive touch controls are also frustrating to deal with. The earbuds also suffer connection issues after several months of use, and the lack of dramatic bass presentation might disappoint bass enthusiasts.

They have good battery life, 7 hours of continuous playback, and an IPX4 rating for sweat resistance, but note the ANC comes with a $50 price increase.

With a more neutral sound profile, the Sennheiser CX Plus is better for critical listeners than the SteelSeries Tusq. It also has a truly wireless design, which some may find more convenient than the wired design of the SteelSeries Tusq. However, the 0 ms cable audio latency of the SteelSeries Tusq is better than the 231 ms latency of the Sennheiser CX Plus. Check out our SteelSeries Tusq review for details.
