#N/AWith support for Dolby Atmos and a mobile app, the Samsung HW-Q70T will appeal to music and TV show enthusiasts. That said, it downmixes surround sound to stereo, so it’s not the best choice for modern 3D movie content.

our Verdict

Leading product experts love the balanced sound profile and excellent connectivity options on the Samsung HW-Q70T, and they approve it for music, TV dialogue, and casual movie watching. Reviewers from TechRadar hailed its seven-band graphic equalizer and presets, saying it will appeal to audiophiles who love fiddling with the music settings.
Experts from CNET were impressed by its good stereo sound profile, which accurately delivers more music and movie content of all genres. However, despite having a dedicated subwoofer, this system doesn’t reproduce that hardcore bass that is common in EDM music.
Reviewers were impressed by its snappy audio latency, commenting that it is great for TV shows. It has a decent selection of wired and wireless connectivity options and works with a companion app. That said, it doesn’t have a built-in voice assistant.

Overview
Equipped with Dolby Atmos, the Samsung HW-Q70T is a modern 3.1.2 channel soundbar released in 2020, promising immersive sound for home theaters and living rooms. Thanks to a well-balanced sound profile and a selection of audio enhancement features, the speaker ranks highly alongside the best speakers on the market.
Like most Samsung soundbars, this model comes with a dedicated subwoofer, but it can’t reproduce that deep rumbling bass that many movie enthusiasts love. It has a rich selection of connectivity options that include a shared HDMI ARC+out, HDMI in, and optical inputs, and it boasts both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
This model works with the Samsung SmartThings app for easy customization. Although it supports Dolby Atmos and surround sound, the soundstage is a bit narrow, so this system is not the most obvious option for equipping an immersive home theater.
