Featuring a huge selection of audio customization options, the Samsung HW-Q600A is a great soundbar for music, TV shows, and casual movie watching. However, it has mediocre surround and Dolby Atmos performance, so it’s not great for directional movie content.

Product Snapshot
Overview
Featuring Dolby Atmos, the 2021 model Samsung HW-Q600A sets itself apart from other 3.1.2-channel soundbars. This system comes with a dedicated subwoofer, adding some boom to TV sound.
It has a remarkably neutral sound profile, just like many of the highest-rated speakers today. Music customization features like a graphic equalizer and presets let you fine-tune the audio profile.
Like most Samsung soundbars, it has an excellent selection of ports that include a shared HDMI ARC+Out, full HDMI In, and USB. Unfortunately, it only streams via Bluetooth and doesn’t reproduce that deep rumbling low bass that brings action movies to life.
On the flip side, this soundbar has a dedicated center channel producing clear dialogue. Movie enthusiasts should note that it downmixes surround sound to stereo, so its narrow soundstage is not as immersive as those of more advanced 5.1.2 soundbars.

Consensus
our Verdict
During their tests, top experts hailed neutral sound profile and loud output of the Samsung HW-Q600A, endorsing it for music, TV shows, and occasional movie playback.
Editors from Which? love its natural sound profile, saying that it is great for all sorts of music and TV dialogue. Reviewers from Product Review praised its loud sound output during their testing, commenting that it’s great for indoor gatherings.
However, despite having a dedicated subwoofer, this system doesn’t reproduce that rumbling low bass that engages movie and game buffs. The dialogue on this unit is crisp, thanks to a dedicated center channel that is especially suited to human voices.
Reviewers were disappointed by its surround and Dolby Atmos soundstage, stating that its not very immersive. It has an excellent range of connectivity options, although it only supports Bluetooth as a wireless streaming option.
The audio latency is a bit high, and editors noticed some minor delays between the audio and video feeds.
