Reasons to Avoid
The MSI Optix G273 has been termed an excellent pick for casual gaming by reviewers. Testers from Rtings attributed its smooth gaming sequences and transitions to its impressive 165Hz refresh rate, and courtesy of its 1ms response time, they did not experience any ghosting during their experiments. Reviewers from Monitor Nerds were happy that the display is both FreeSync and G-Sync compatible, as this meant that gamers shouldn’t have to fret over whether or not their AMD Radeon or NVIDIA GPU will work with it. Also appreciated was its wide viewing angles, as this meant that it could be used in a shared office space or for group viewing. They also noted that it has a low 4ms input lag for quick responsiveness and that it boasts superb reflection handling which makes it great for use in brightly lit environments.
Unfortunately, critics felt that its lack of support for HDR content may deter users who are used to sharp and vivid color, and lamented that its poor ergonomics may make it inconvenient to make adjustments to its placement.

The LG 27GP950-B beats it out the Optix G273 in terms of resolution, as its 4K screen delivers sharper picture quality compared to that of the G273, which has a 1080p resolution.
While the MSI Optix G273 delivers pretty solid gaming features and brightness levels, the Optix G273QF is just a cut above it in terms of screen resolution and contrast. The G273 has a 1080p screen and a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and is outclassed by the G273QF’s 1440p screen and 1200:1 contrast ratio.
The G273 does prove to be a better pick compared to the MSI Optix MAG271CQR, as it delivers more accurate color, and is also NVIDIA G-Sync compatible.
The MSI Optix G273 has slightly wider viewing angles compared to the Samsung G7 Odyssey, which has a curved screen. The Samsung may be ideal for users who would want to enjoy an immersive viewing experience, but, despite it having a curved screen. This makes the Optix is a much better alternative for co-op gaming.
Released in November 2021, The MSI Optix G273 came about six months after its predecessor, the Optix G272, with a few subtle improvements that might make a difference for users who want to get the most value for their money. The G273 features an increased brightness level of 300 nits compared to the G272’s 250 nits, as well as an extra HDMI port for added convenience. The G273 also features HDR support which is lacking in the G272.
