The Klipsch Cinema 1200 offers a bass-heavy sound with a strong connection and low latency, catering to home theater enthusiasts. While its bass is a bit too strong and creates imbalances with mids and trebles, for the performance, it’s well worth the price.

Overview

The Klipsch Cinema 1200 is a 2020 model high-end 5.1.4 channel soundbar that boasts an extremely wide soundstage for home theater setups, thanks to Dolby Atmos.

Similar to the best speakers on the market, its neutral audio reproduction and bass output achieve a close-to-authentic sound profile that faithfully recreates the content creators’/audio engineers’ vision.

And just like the top-rated soundbars available today, it comes with an included wooden wireless subwoofer. But if you don’t care about the close-to-perfect bass output, you can also take a look at our Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 review.

Input options include two full-speed HDMI ports (acts as an HDMI hub), an optical and a 3.5 mm audio port, and an ethernet jack. If you need a working USB port to play audio files, check our LG S95QR review today.

And for wireless connectivity, this soundbar features Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and a built-in Chromecast module. However, if you don’t need Wi-Fi or Chromecast, do check out our LG Eclair QP5 review.

What the brand doesn’t always tell you…

our Verdict

Soundwise, the Klipsch Cinema 1200 brings a premium home theater experience with its dedicated subwoofer and immersive Atmos performance. Its adjustable dialogue enhancement and night mode cater to dialogue-centric content.

Connection-wise, the Klipsch Cinema 1200’s low latency ensures lip-syncing accuracy. The bar also supports various audio formats and has impressive audio passthrough capabilities. Chromecast built-in support enhances its connectivity, though it requires a firmware update.

However, the bass-heavy profile might not suit everyone, and some users reported occasional sound loss and connectivity issues. The soundbar’s stereo frequency response is notable, capturing clear dialogue despite the powerful bass.

The controls are simple but work well, and the remote allows users to switch between the EQ presets.

The Samsung HW-Q950A soundbar has a more comprehensive 11.1.4 channel speaker setup that performs better than the Klipsch Cinema 1200 when it comes to Dolby Atmos and soundstage. The Samsung soundbar also has built-in voice assistants, DTS audio codec support, and an auto-calibration/room correction tool, all of which the Klipsch soundbar lacks. However, the Klipsch Cinema 1200 does produce a slightly deeper bass.
