This premium soundbar setup is highly optimized to deliver a deeply immersive surround sound experience, which makes for exciting movie-watching and justifies its high price. Its bass has an extra punch to it, though it lacks an EQ and a display.

Overview

The Bose Smart Soundbar 900 with Speakers + Bass Module is a premium smart soundbar that was first announced in 2021.

Its soundstage is wide thanks to PhaseGuide technology, and this delivers an immersive surround sound performance where on-screen action feels like its happening all around.

This feature alone makes it one of the best speakers in the market, or one of the best soundbars to consider for a listening experience unique to the room size.

The range of audio formats supported includes Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, and Dolby Digital Plus content, while its port selection includes an Optical Audio In, HDMI ARC port, and an Ethernet port.

It has both Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa support built in, and connects through Bluetooth, WiFi, Apple AirPlay, and even Chromecast. In contrast, the JBL Link Bar only supports Bluetooth and WiFi music streaming. We’ve covered it in our JBL Link Bar review.

our Verdict

The Bose 900 is a sturdy, well-designed soundbar boasting good bass depths, combined with its robust max volume and balanced sound profile, creating a captivating, expansive audio arena for movies, TV, and music.

The stereo frequency response is exceptional, preserving crystal-clear vocals while harmoniously blending with rich vocal and instrumental tones, delivering a sonic experience.

Voice commands register effortlessly through the adept built-in microphone, and the Bose Music app facilitates seamless setup and personalization.

With impressively low latencies tested at 56ms (ARC) and 55ms (Optical), audio and visuals sync flawlessly. Versatile wireless connectivity options include Bluetooth, WiFi, Chromecast, Apple AirPlay, and Spotify.

Regrettably, the 900 lacks a display and EQ adjustments, and input choices are limited to a single Optical Audio In and Ethernet port.

The Bose Smart Soundbar 900 with Speakers + Bass Module might appeal to most buyers since it ships with a dedicated subwoofer and satellites while the Bose Smart Soundbar 900 only ships as a standalone unit. As a result, the Bose 900 with speakers produces a much lower bass response compared to the Bose 900. Feel free to check out our Bose 900 soundbar review if it still sounds interesting.
