our Verdict

Product critics praised the Dell S2721D, approving it for casual gaming. They were pleased that the monitor has FreeSync technology and G-SYNC compatibility, and noted that it reduces screen tearing. This monitor’s 2560 x 1440 resolution offers more details than 1080p monitors like the Dell S2421H. Partly because of this device’s excellent text clarity and outstanding reflection handling, analysts recommend it for the office. Reviewers at RTINGS remarked that the 27-inch display provides an engaging viewing experience. Like the Corsair XENEON 32QHD165, this Dell monitor has an IPS panel, and testers noticed only minimal deterioration in image quality and colors at wide viewing angles. Experts at Tech Radar said that this monitor gets bright enough to fight glare in moderately lit rooms. However, they were disappointed by this monitor’s relatively low 75Hz refresh rate, which pales in comparison to the 165Hz rate of the higher-end Dell S2721DGF. They also criticized this device’s low 1,015:1 contrast ratio, saying that it results in poor dark scenes when viewed in dark rooms.
