While looking for a good cheap projector for your home theater setup, you must’ve come across many brands with different offerings. But have you come across one that has a built-in DVD player? The BIGASUO Projector comes with one, making it one of the best projectors for artists to buy in this price range.

Why We Like It – BIGASUO Projector

Cheap projectors that tout “1080p support” usually come with 480p (standard definition) as their native res. But the BIGASUO projector is one of the few cheaper projectors with 720p (high definition) native resolution instead. And it is a Bluetooth projector too, enabling you to connect Bluetooth speakers to it. However, for a 4K resolution, you’ll want to read our Optoma 4K projector review.

Pros
  • 3000:1 contrast ratio
  • Mini projector compatible with 1080p files
  • Good picture quality for its price
Cons
  • Not great for business or office presentations

Performance/Resolution

This portable Bluetooth projector can play 1080p files. But the native resolution comes at around 1280x720p. Basically, 1080p files get supersampled and look better than native 720p files. The DVD player supports the following format of disks: CD, DVD, CD-R/RW, DVD -R/+R, DVD+RW/-RW, VCD, and SVCD (but not blu-ray DVD). Also, it supports the following codecs for playback: MP3, WMA, VOB, AVI, MPEG1, XVID, and JPEG. If you want a projector that provides a great viewing experience thanks to its full HD resolution, high contrast, and high-quality color reproduction, consider the Epson Home Cinema 2040 3D 1080p 3LCD or the Epson Home Cinema 3700 full HD 1080p 3LCD projector, too.

Brightness/Lumens

The manufacturer touts a “5500 lumens” lamp. However, at this price, that probably isn’t true. Still, it’s relatively bright, and you shouldn’t have any complaints about the brightness range. The ViewSonic 1080p Projector might be better if you still need some legit numbers. Or, opt for the BenQ MH760 1080p business projector and the Optoma S334E SVGA bright professional projector, both of which have high lumens. Additionally, you can check out our guide to the top-rated projector bright rooms if you have a lot of ambient light to deal with. You’ll also want to make sure the lumens are good enough to see your image, especially after you hook up an iPad to a projector

Adjustability/Viewing Angle

This Bluetooth projector probably is the best when it comes to adjustability options. It offers vertical and horizontal keystone adjustments, has a focus-controlling rotating slider, and even comes with a tripod stand. And the stand is fairly adjustable as well. But, the BenQ EP5920 digital projector works much better for portability and adjustability. If you enjoy this model, you may be asking yourself can any projector do rear projection, though the answer may not be what you expect.

Durability

The manufacturer made little to no remarks about the lamp life or even what kind of lamp it uses to find replacements easily once a lamp dies. But with initial impressions and with other customers’ reviews, the lamp life seems to be just fine according to its price. In case you’re still worried, read our Optoma EH500 review for a model with a longer lamp life.

Value

Well, at just above $120, the BIGASUO Projector provides some of the best “bangs for your buck.” According to the manufacturer, when you order it from amazon.com, you get three years of money-back warranty within the United States. But if it seems a bit out of your budget, get the AuKing Mini Projector, as it comes with similar performance, at a lower price.

But, you know a higher price tag often means better quality. In that case, you’ll want to check out our ViewSonic 1080p projector review.

BIGASUO Projector Wrap Up

The BIGASUO Projector is the perfect projector to hook up your streaming sticks (e.g., Fire TV Stick) or consoles (e.g., PS4, XBOX) using an HDMI cable to stream movies from streaming services (e.g., Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu).
