The Berman Mid Back Mesh Chair has decent adjustability, but it is pretty comfortable and is made out of high-quality materials. Unfortunately, its lumbar support is not adjustable, and it doesn’t come with a headrest.

Product Snapshot

Overview

The Berlman Mid Back Mesh Chair was first announced in late 2020 as a mid-tier office chair. The chair features flip-up armrests that are convenient for owners who want to sit deep into their desks and they are also padded for added comfort.

The Berlman is designed to accommodate individuals who weigh up to 250 pounds, but those who weigh more will be better off checking out other alternatives from what we think are the best office chairs on the market. The Berlman Mid Back Mesh Chair also features a 3” high-density sponge seat for good comfort and a breathable mesh backrest to help prevent back sweat when seated for long hours.

Consensus

our Verdict

The Berlman Mid Back Mesh Chair offers an interesting mix of adjustability and comfort for its mid-range price. While the chair offers flip-up armrests with some padding for comfort, the armrests are not quite height or depth-adjustable. However, the chair’s seat height is configurable by about 3”, and its backrest has a 90° to 120° tilting range. The tilt tension is also adjustable by a knob found right underneath its seat, but unfortunately, there’s no adjustable lumbar support to speak of.

Comfort-wise, the chair’s 3” seat should be good for most people, and its breathable mesh backrest allows for good airflow when seated for long hours. This sturdy chair can support individuals who weigh up to 250 pounds, but it doesn’t ship with a headrest.

The Berlman Mid Back Mesh Chair offers padding on its armrests while the Berlman Ergonomic High Back Mesh Office Chair does not, but on the other hand, the High Back Chair features an integrated headrest, which the Mid Back Chair lacks. In terms of adjustability, the Mid Back Chair has a seat height adjustment range of about 3”, while the High Back Chair has a 4” range of seat adjustment.

The High Back also has a tall backrest, which makes it the more comfortable alternative for tall individuals. However, consider other options if you don’t need a high-back chair. Our SmileMart Adjustable Mid Back Mesh Swivel Chair review would be a great place to start.

The Berlman Mid Back Mesh Chair has a 3” range for seat height adjustment, while the Amazon Low Back Chair’s seat height can be adjusted by about 4.5”. However, the Berlman Mid Back Chair remains the more comfortable choice between the two, as it features padded armrests, which the Amazon chair does not, and 3-inch seat padding that’s slightly better than the Amazon Chair’s 2-inch seat padding. Still, you can see what the Amazon chair offers by checking out our AmazonBasics Low Back Chair review.

Comfort-wise, the Berlman Mid Back Mesh Chair doesn’t quite match up to the X-Chair X2 K-Sport Mgmt Chair, as the X2 offers dynamic lumbar support, 4-way adjustable armrests and an optional headrest, which the Amazon chair does not. Despite it being more expensive, adjustability is also better on the X2, as it offers tilt tension control, and its backrest can recline. For more information on it, have a look at our X-Chair X2 K-Sport Mgmt review.
