Most people think a soundbar is meant for use with only a TV or as part of your high-end wireless home theater system, but you can actually get one for your PC or laptop as well, and the TaoTronics TT-SK018 wired computer soundbar would be a great place to start. This is a simple 16-inch soundbar that is easy to set up, and offers a large sound stage for an immersive listening experience. It also comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack that you can use for private listening, as well as a microphone output for when you need to make a call through your headset. If you’re looking for the best computer speakers for your PC, then your search may have just come to an end. Go ahead with this review and find out what else it has in store.
The TaoTronics TT wired computer soundbar is an excellent pick for users who just want to have a good-sounding speaker that doesn’t cost much, and also looks good with the rest of their laptop or PC setup.
The Taotronics TT computer speaker offers stereo sound, and comes with a power cable that plugs in via USB. All you’ll have to do is connect it to your computer or laptop through the 3.5mm audio cable so that it starts working. You can also choose to hook it up to your TV, or use it as an outdoor speaker for small parties as long as you make sure that it doesn’t get wet or damaged. You might prefer to take advantage of its wireless Bluetooth capability for a wireless setup (which you won’t get with the bose companion 2 series iii multimedia), but if you don’t, there’s an audio cable that comes with it that you can also use. If you’re still having trouble, our resource post on how to connect your speakers to a receiver can help.

Unlike the Bluesound Pulse 2i soundbar, the Taotronics Bluetooth speaker is available in a black and silver finish. It’s well designed, and is a perfect alternative for anyone that wouldn’t be satisfied with separate left and right computer speakers as is the case with the AmazonBasics USB-powered PC computer speakers. Its volume knob is located on the right side of the soundbar, and is designed with LED accents that add to its look. You can also choose to plug it in through a USB port on your laptop if you don’t want to plug it into the main power source.
Alternatively, for a speaker that’s portable and used with iPod, you’ll want to check out the iMainGo X. Or, you might like the portable Bose SoundLink Mini II.
This Taotronics USB-powered soundbar produces up to 10 Watts of combined power, which is more than you’ll get with the Logitech Z130, and loud enough for people that just want to be able to listen to music or watch a movie on their laptop. Its bass levels are not that high, but then again, you shouldn’t really expect much from a sub $50 soundbar. But, you can expect quality from Bose, once you read our Bose Soundlink Color II review.
Before you go ahead and purchase this soundbar, make sure you’ve passed by Amazon to see what other buyers had to say about it so that you know what to expect.
