our Verdict

Product researchers praised the Anker Soundcore Motion Boom and recommended it for podcasts, music, and outdoor use. Testers at RTINGS loved its 55.0Hz to 14.7kHz range and -0.36 slope accuracy, although its poor low-bass is not suited to movies. Reviewers at LaptopMag adored the 3.4-lb portable design and carry handle. They praised its speakerphone functions and submersible IPX7-rated construction. Clocking in at 93.1 dB in SPL tests at the highest volume, this portable speaker gets really loud, although the 2.78 dB DRC at the maximum volume shows some audio quality deterioration. It’s battery-powered, running for an incredible 39.9 hours on a single charge. The speaker supports voice assistants via smartphones, but the performance was poor during experiments. However, this Bluetooth 5.0 device has a poor 297 ms iOS Bluetooth latency and 223 ms Android Bluetooth latency. Check out our Anker Soundcore Motion+ review for a device with better latency. Posting a 7.24 dB directivity index, this device provided a mediocre soundstage, although it supports stereo.
