The Serenelife portable air conditioner is a compact and lightweight AC unit that is one of the best portable conditioners you can get, and is guaranteed to provide hours of comfort and relaxation especially if it’s the summertime and your house is just too hot or too humid. It comes with a 12000 BTU rating which is enough for a room as big as 450 square feet. The portable AC also comes with a window mount kit, a quick setup guide, an exhaust hose, and a remote control so that you can control it from the comfort of your couch. At almost 56 decibels, the 12000 BTU portable conditioner has a very low noise level so it shouldn’t be disruptive in any way. If thus far you’re already interested in what the Serenelife portable air conditioner has to offer, and find out why it’s the second on our best air conditioners list, then make sure you stick around for this review.

Why We Like It – Serenelife 12 000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner

The Serenelife portable air conditioner comes with a decent 12000 BTU rating, which is enough to pull out hot air and bring in cool room air at a very low power consumption level. The AC cooling unit only comes with a single drain hose, and is a far much better option to go for over a window air conditioner. • Low noise level
  • Has wheels for easy movement
  • Has 3 Operating modes
  • A bit expensive

Unlike the Perfect Aire 10000 BTU portable air conditioner, the Serenelife 12000 BTU portable air conditioner comes with 3 operating modes where we have cooling, dehumidifier, and fan modes. You’ll get 4 with the hOmelabs 14,000 BTU portable air conditioner, but only if you’re prepared to shell out a bit more money. Its cooling power is pretty impressive for a cooling unit of its size, and with a window mount kit included, you’ll have everything needed to get set up. The Serenelife AC unit also has a dehumidifier built-in to reduce the moisture in the air over a wide coverage area, and can be set into low noise mode for those times when you just want complete silence. However, the hissing noise coming from the AC in low noise can indicate another issue.

At its fastest, the air conditioner is capable of an airflow speed of up to 360 cubic meters per hour, and is capable of doing moisture removal at 1.8 liters per hour. If you just need a basic lower-capacity unit, consider this Serene Life Portable Air Conditioner model, which has an airflow speed of up to 293 cubic meters per hour. And, to maintain the power of this unit, it’s important to also remember to drain a portable air conditioner as needed.

Moving the Serenelife 12000 BTU portable air conditioner around is not as difficult as the Frigidaire FFRA0511R1E 5,000 BTU because it comes with wheels, so this means you won’t have to bear the weight of all of its 70.2 pounds. As previously mentioned, the air conditioner comes with an included remote and a window kit. This is useful since you can use the remote to set the AC at the coldest temperature allowed without ever getting up. Whenever the remote isn’t in use, the AC is operated through a touch-button control panel alongside an LED Display. Inside, the air conditioner also features a washable air filter screen, and a cooling dehumidifier fan that you can tone down through its sleep mode when you don’t want it making too much noise at night. Another unit to consider which has a low noise mode is the SereneLife Portable Conditioner Dehumidifier model.

For those who are worried about power consumption, this Serenelife room air conditioner is very energy efficient at an EER of 8.7, so it won’t drive up your costs even if your room is as big as 450 sq ft. Sudden spikes in your energy usage can signify that your air conditioner needs some maintenance or a reset, which you can do yourself if you learn how to reset the air conditioner. This is similar to the TOSOT 8000 BTU window A/C, but its cooling reach is smaller than the SereneLife. The portable cooling device also comes with a 24-hour timer that you can use to decide when the sleep mode kicks in, and compared to a window ac like the LG LW8016ER 8,000 BTU, its major advantage is that you’ll be able to move it around.

Serenelife 12 000 BTU Portable Air Conditioner Wrap Up

Good quality air conditioning can only be guaranteed if you have reliable AC units to deal with, and the Serenelife 12000 BTU is a cut above the rest. However, the one in our LG LP1217GSR review can give it a run for its money. It might be slightly more expensive than most portable air conditioners, but that’s because it has a lot of value to offer for a long time. In fact, if you want to protect this unit, you’ll want to learn about wiring the AC disconnect switch.
