With a neutral sound profile and Dolby Atmos, the Samsung HW-Q30B delivers pleasant music, TV shows, and movie content. However, it has poor surround soundstage and mediocre low-bass mean that it’s not the most immersive option for movies.

Product Snapshot
Overview
The Samsung HW-Q60B is a mid-range 3.1-channel soundbar that was first released in 2022, touting Dolby Atmos. Like select top-rated speakers, this system comes with a dedicated subwoofer, although it doesn’t reproduce extended low bass.
Compatible with some Q-Symphony technology, this system can be paired with compatible Samsung TVs. Music enthusiasts will love the audio customization options that include a graphic equalizer and presets.
Ports like a combined HDMI ARC+Output, full HDMI input, and USB facilitate hassle-free connectivity. That said, this system lacks advanced features like voice assistants and the mobile app.
This unit doesn’t support Wi-Fi, Airplay, or Chromecast, relying solely on Bluetooth for wireless streaming. Because it downmixes surround sound to stereo, it has a middling 3D soundstage, so it’s not as immersive for movies as higher-end units.

Consensus
our Verdict
Product testers love the balanced profile of the Samsung HW-Q60B, endorsing it for music, TV shows, and movies. Experts from The Tech Reviewer were astounded by its pleasant audio that is capable of accurately rendering movie and music of all genres.
Reviewers from Crutchfield were happy that it supports Dolby Atmos, although they observed that the performance is poor. It also downmixes surround sound to stereo, so the soundstage is not that immersive in the horizontal plane, too.
This system gets really loud, so it is ideal for gatherings. It has a great center channel that enhances dialogue in movies and TV shows. A huge selection of connectivity options simplifies plugging to TVs, but the soundbar only supports Bluetooth as a wireless streaming option.
Analysts were disappointed that it doesn’t have voice assistants and doesn’t have a companion app.

Featuring a more neutral sound profile out of the box, the Samsung HW-Q60B is better for music than the LG S75Q. It also has a graphic EQ equalizer for customization, unlike the LG system. However, the LG soundbar handles Dolby Atmos content better because it has up-firing drivers, while the Samsung soundbar downmixes Dolby Atmos content to stereo.
