Product Snapshot

Overview

The Herman Miller Mirra 2 is a high-end chair first announced in mid-2016. As is common with most top-tier office chairs, the Mirra 2 is available in many different options, with its highest spec option offering adjustable lumbar support, a tilt limiter, and 4-way adjustable armrests.

Buyers will also have to choose between two different back materials: either the Triflex Polymer variant or the Butterfly Suspension backrest, where the Trifex Polymer option offers more firmness. The chair has a maximum weight capacity of up to 350 pounds but is more suited for home or office use. If you’re in the market for a chair designed for gaming, then our EasySMX Big and Tall review might be worth a look.

The Herman Miller Mirra 2 only comes in one size, while the Herman Miller Aeron is available in a small, medium, or large size, but the Herman Mirra 2 allows for four-directional armest adjustment while the Aeron is limited to three-dimensional adjustment. The Mirra 2 also offers seat depth adjustment, which the Aeron does not.

The Herman Miller Mirra 2 offers height-adjustable lumbar support, while the Steelcase Karman only offers dynamic lumbar support. However, the Steelcase Karman allows for a higher seat height adjustment range, as its seat can be adjusted from 15.875” to 20.375”. On the other hand, the Mirra 2 can only be adjusted from 16” to 20.5”. In case you’re interested in the Karman, we’ve covered it in our Steelcase Karman review.

The Herman Miller Mirra 2 offers adjustable lumbar support, which the Flexispot Pro Plus Mesh Office Chair OC14 does not. However, the OC14 also ships with a headrest, which the Mirra 2 does not. Finally, while the Mirra 2’s backrest can be locked at either a 92°, 100°, or 124° recline, the OC14 allows users to lock its backrest anywhere within 40° when reclined. Check out our Flexispot OC14 review for more insight into what else it has in store.
