Product Snapshot

Overview

The Corsair Virtuoso Pro is a mid-range pair of headphones first announced in late 2023. Its frequency response is rated at 40 KHz, and its sensitivity at 116 dB.

Consensus

our Verdict

The Corsair Virtuoso Pro headset feels very comfortable to wear, thanks to its heavily padded earcups and headband. The soft cloth padding is comfortable enough for marathon gaming sessions, and regarding sound quality, the sound profile is warm, but there’s minimal bass emphasis. However, the sound can’t be configured through companion software, which is unfortunate. The Audeze LCD-GX offers better, more customizable sound quality, as you’ll find out in our Audeze LCD GX review. The Virtuoso Pro’s microphone is accurate, with impressive recording quality.

Unfortunately, the headset has poor sound leakage performance and poor noise isolation, mainly due to its open-back design.

Reason to Buy

  • Great audio quality
    • The Virtuoso Pro has a warm sound output, with a 40Hz frequency response and well-balanced mids and trebles. However, bass output is very much under-emphasized.

  • Exceptional comfort
    • The Virtuoso Pro headphones are comfortable enough to wear for long hours due to their generous soft cloth padding on the ear cups and headband.

  • Top-quality microphone
    • The microphone accurately records voice, and as a result, dialogue is clear and audible.

Reason to Avoid

  • Poor sound leakage performance
    • The open-back design of these headphones causes a lot of sound leakage, which may inconvenience those seated around during music listening.

  • Poor noise-isolation
    • Again, the open-back design of the Virtuoso Pro headphones poorly filters out noise from outside.

The Corsair Virtuoso RGB Wireless is a wireless headset, unlike the Corsair Virtuoso PRO, which is wired. The RGB Wireless also has a closed-back enclosure, while the Virtuoso PRO has an open-back, but for more open-back alternatives, check out our roundup of the best open back gaming headphones. The control scheme on the RGB Wireless also includes onboard volume controls, which are missing from the Virtuoso PRO. The RGB Wireless headphones are significantly larger than the Virtuoso PRO. The Corsair Virtuoso PRO Wireless headset misses out on noise canceling as a feature, which is present on the Turtle Beach Stealth Pro Wireless. Their enclosures are also different, as the Turtle Beach has a closed-back enclosure, while the Virtuoso PRO has an open-back enclosure. The Turtle Beach has its controls on the ear cup, while the Virtuoso PRO has in-line controls. See what else the Turtle Beach headset has in store in our Turtle Beach Stealth Pro Wireless review.

The Corsair Virtuoso PRO’s wired nature differentiates it from the wireless Corsair H65 SURROUND headset. Also worth mentioning is that the Virtuoso PRO has a detachable microphone, while the one on the H65 SURROUND cannot be detached, but the latter supports a 7.1 channel surround sound output, which the Virtuoso PRO does not. You can find out about the H65 in our Corsair H65 Surround review.
