While the Smart Soundbar 700 offers superb audio quality, the lack of a subwoofer and missing surround sound speakers makes it difficult for more discerning buyers to justify its high-end pricing, as there are other options with more to offer at that price point.

Product Snapshot
Overview
The Bose Smart Soundbar 700 is a high-end 3.0-channel speaker that was first released into the market in late 2018.
The Bose 700’s wide soundstage makes it ideal for homeowners with large rooms, and as is common among the best soundbars around, it can also get loud without the sound distorting at max volume.
The speaker’s compact size also makes it a great option for users who don’t have as much space at their disposal, and like most top speakers, it also has both WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity and can be used to stream content from Chromecast and Apple AirPlay.
Its wired connectivity options are also limited, as it has one Optical Audio In port and one HDMI ARC port. It doesn’t feature any HDMI ports, and since it doesn’t ship with a subwoofer, it does not produce the thunderous rumble that low-bass fans might appreciate.
Consensus
our Verdict
The 3.0 channel Bose Smart Soundbar 700 shines with a well-balanced, neutral sound profile that reproduces dialogue accurately, and its wide soundstage plus room correction feature helps create an immersive listening experience when playing movies.
Wireless connectivity is possible through Bluetooth, WiFi, Chromecast, and Apple AirPlay support for seamless music streaming, while Google Assistant and Alexa support facilitate quick voice commands.
Its low-tested 20ms and 39ms latency over ARC and Optical connections keep sound and video in sync, and its loud max volume delivers a room-filling audio experience without any distortion – an attribute we’ve also listed in our Bose Smart Soundbar 300 review.
However, the Soundbar doesn’t produce a thumpy bass response, and its port selection is poor, with only an Optical Audio In and an Ethernet port.

The Bose Smart Soundbar 700 is a well-built speaker that might appeal to buyers courtesy of its compact design and availability in white trim. It also has a room correction feature and an EQ preset that is missing on the Bose Smart Soundbar 300. It ships with a HDMI cable while the Bose 300 does not. The Bose Smart Soundbar 700 supports Bluetooth playback while the Sonos Arc does not, but the Sonos Arc has an auto volume/night mode while the Bose 700 does not. Also, the Sonos Arc allows for height adjustment while the Bose Smart Soundbar 700 does not, and it can render both Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital Plus sound formats while the Sonos Arc cannot.
