The LG SK10Y’s premium price seems to be tied to its heavy low-range bass output, and this, plus its center channel, enhances dialogue for movie or TV watching, making it worth it’s pricing. However, it doesn’t get very loud, and surround sound performance is middling.

Product Snapshot
Overview
First launched in 2018, the LG SK10Y is a premium soundbar with a 5.1.2 channel setup. This helps mitigate the narrow width of its stereo soundstage.
It also has a dedicated center speaker for precise audio reproduction and a subwoofer for added depth in its bass output. Its wireless capabilities are also as good as what the best speakers offer.
The soundbar supports Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity and is also compatible with Apple Airplay and Chromecast. Its ability to play audio in surround sound formats such as Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, DTS, and Dolby TrueHD is something it shares with the best soundbars in the market.
Still, it does not get as loud as the LG SL6Y, which peaks at 94 decibels, or the LG SK9Y, which hits 89 decibels at its loudest. Check them out in our LG SL6Y review and our LG SK9Y review.
Consensus
our Verdict
The LG SK10Y delivers immersive surround sound and reliable wireless connectivity when watching movies courtesy of its support for Dolby Atmos, as well as a thunderous bass output provided by its subwoofer, making it the perfect pick for a cinematic home theater experience as these features mitigate the narrow width of its soundstage.
Vocals are clear thanks to its dialogue-centered center channel, but its boomy sound profile might not impress everyone. It also can’t process the DTS:X audio format.
Still, it offers many wired and wireless connectivity options for easy setup and seamless streaming. Also, its tested low 92ms and 92ms latencies for ARC and Optical connections dissipate the likelihood of any lip-syncing issues.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t get very loud and doesn’t work with voice assistants.
