This high-end soundbar has an exceptionally wide soundstage for immersive surround sound performance when watching movies and a well-balanced sound profile.
However, there are other cheaper options with good surround sound and satisfying bass.

Product Snapshot
Overview
The Bose 900 Soundbar is a premium speaker announced in late 2021. Its use of PhaseGuide technology allows it to create a broad and immersive soundstage since sound gets beamed throughout the room.
Available in either black or white, the speaker features Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity support and compatibility with Apple AirPlay 2 and Spotify Connect.
This makes it ideal for hassle-free music streaming. The soundbar also has two up-firing drivers that help create the illusion of height, and like any top-tier speaker, it supports audio formats such as Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital, and Dolby Digital Plus.
Like most popular soundbars, the Bose 900 also gets reasonably loud, averaging about 96.4 dB at max volume. It also works with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa, which can be managed through the Bose Music app.
Its physical inputs include an Optical Audio In, a HDMI ARC port, and one Ethernet port.
Consensus
our Verdict
Aside from good construction, the Bose 900 also boasts a neutral sound profile that’s great for all audio content and an exceptional soundstage, providing an immersive movie and TV-watching experience due to the amplified aspect of height and width in its sound.
Wireless connectivity is stellar, with Bluetooth, WiFi, Chromecast, Apple AirPlay, and Spotify support. ADAPTiQ technology optimizes audio output depending on the size of the room it is in, but there’s no subwoofer.
The soundbar supports Dolby Atmos content and also delivers clear vocal projection. With a low tested latency for ARC (56ms) and Optical connections (55ms), audio-visuals are in sync, but it lacks a Full HDMI In port.
Its port selection is limited, with one Optical Audio In and 1 Ethernet port. Unfortunately, it doesn’t support DTS content.

The Bose 900 Soundbar ships only as a soundbar, so it might delight customers who are short of space and unable to accommodate a full soundbar, such as the Bose 900 Soundbar with Speakers + Bass Module, which we’ve looked into in our Bose 900 Soundbar with Speakers + Bass Module review. The Bose Soundbar 900 also doesn’t come with a subwoofer and satellite speakers, unlike the Bose 900, which includes a Bass Module. As a result, the Bose 900 + Bass Module has a higher max volume.
