A Mesh Wi-Fi system such as the TP-Link Deco M5 is great for large homes where the Wi-Fi coverage may be bad. The system includes three units that can effectively improve wireless coverage, unlike the TP-Link AC1900, which is a single unit. With several great features included, the Deco M5 could be the best router for your home.

Why We Like It – TP-Link Deco

The TP-Link Deco M5 Mesh system can improve the range of your home network greatly. This WiFi mesh system is easy to install and features a 2.4GHz network, parental controls, and several other useful features. The system offers 1300Mbps speeds and connectivity for up to 100 devices. If you need another high-quality computer accessory, take a look at the PureShape magic mouse.

  • Wi-Fi speeds up to 1300Mbps
  • 5,500 square feet coverage area
  • Easy to set up
  • Can get warm as heat vents are at the bottom

Similar to the Linksys Mesh WiFi, the TP-Link Deco M5 Wi-Fi system creates a mesh network in your home and can cover an area of up to 5,500 sq. ft. With 1300Mbps Wi-Fi speeds, and a quad-core processor, you can use mesh networking to stream 4K content, transfer large files, play online games, and more. TP-Link claims that the three Deco M5 units can support up to 100 devices. It is also great for connecting smart home devices, supports Alexa voice commands, and works with Google WiFi. For smaller homes, the Eero Pro Mesh Wi-Fi System (2nd Gen) Router is a better option.

TP-Link’s Deco M5 mesh systems feature a circular shape with an aesthetically pleasing design. The units will go well with other home appliances and furniture, and are smaller compared to the Netgear Orbi RBK23 Tri-Band Mesh Wi-Fi System Router. Each Deco M5 unit can act as an Access Point and connect via the two ethernet ports, or also be used as a router. There are tiny vents at the bottom of the device for heat dissipation. The design is quite different from the S4 version of the TP-Link Deco Whole Home Mesh Wi-Fi System Router.

Among other mesh Wi-Fi systems in the same price range, the TP-Link Deco M5 does a much better job with range and transfer speeds. The units come with good build quality, and a small footprint, and are very easy to set up using the Deco app. For security, TP-Link has included its HomeCare services that offer great parent controls, QoS, and powerful Antivirus. Users can also connect the Deco Home Wi-Fi system with Alexa and use voice commands. However, for more coverage area and transfer speeds, the MeshForce Whole Home M3 Wi-Fi System Router is much better.

TP-Link Deco Wrap Up

The TP-Link Deco M5 Wi-Fi systems are a great deal for the price. They offer Wi-Fi speeds of up to 1300Mbps, a large coverage area of 5,500 sq.ft., with great security. The Wi-Fi system also features parental controls, and the Deco M5 app makes it easy to set up. The only issue is that the units can get hot due to the heat vents placed at the bottom.
