Dyson V8 Absolute
Putting performance first, the Dyson V8 Absolute is packing excellent suction power, in addition to its combination tools that expertly suck in dirt and pet hair alike.
Compared to previous Dyson handheld vacuum cleaners, the V8 has made significant improvements to suction power, increasing to 115 AW. In fact, it has 150% more brush bar power than the Dyson V6, thanks to its direct-drive cleaner cleaning head. So yes, Dyson improved their design. Run time is about 40 minutes; power mode brings it down a smidge, but offers more suction. Recharge runs up to 4 hours, which is significantly longer than the Bosch BCS122GB’s 1-hour quick-charge.

With its soft roller and crevice tool, it’s incredibly efficient at cleaning your home, not just the hard floors. The Dyson V8 Absolute even does well against pet hair, thanks to its mini motorized tool, however, its brother, the V8 Animal, is a bit more equipped for it.
The Dyson V8 Absolute Stick Vacuum doesn’t stray far from the average bin capacity, being capable of holding 0.14 gallons or 0.53 liters. Bin emptying is easy—just press the button over a trashcan and you’re good to go. The bin will occasionally need to be cleaned to prevent build-up.

Cordless vacuums can be made cheaply, but the Dyson V8 Absolute is an entirely different beast; this is Dyson we’re talking about. When it comes to design quality, Dyson always delivers. It can take a beating and keep going for years to come, even the attachments have a nice quality to them.
We’ll always recommend Dyson V8 Absolute if you can fork over the $411 needed. It’s a price that hurts the wallet, but is worth every penny. It’s what peak performance looks like, and since it’s lightweight, even elderly individuals can take advantage of its power. But if you have more to spare, consider bumping up to the Dyson V11 Vacuum for more performance, or drop down to the Tineco Pure One S12 if you have a tighter budget.
The Dyson V8 Absolute is absolutely one of the finest examples of what cordless stick vacuums can offer. Despite its average bin capacity, it has excellent suction power. With its combination tools, you’ll be cleaning up and down the house, picking up every inch of dirt and pet hair on hard and carpeted flooring.
