Expert Rankings

Despite having a 720p resolution, the Sanyo FW32R19F provides access to an extensive library of content that reviewers appreciated. However, lack of HDR & 4K support, shallow blacks, HDMI 2.1 ports, and lackluster sound may drive some buyers away. But movie lovers will definitely want the Sceptre A658CV-U due to its surround sound settings.

Expert testers loved that the FW32R19F Sanyo Roku TV provides access to movies and TV episodes across thousands of channels through its Roku platform, making it great for movie enthusiasts. Unfortunately, it fell short of delivering the ultimate viewing experience due to lack of HDR support, hazy black levels and lack of support for 4K content. Pro gamers will also be disappointed by the lack of HDMI 2.1 ports, no variable refresh rate, and mediocre sound. But casual gamers will appreciate what the Samsung UE43RU7020 has to offer.

Picture Quality

4K

  • The Sanyo FW32R19F failed to impress most reviewers with its lack of support for 4K picture quality, as the TV’s maximum resolution stood at 720 pixels. As a result, theTV could not deliver an Ultra High Definition picture and was therefore unsuitable for users who would want to enjoy vivid imagery.

Color

  • Experts lauded the color accuracy on the Sanyo FW32R19F Smart TV, as reviewers from Consumer Reports noted how well natural flesh tones were displayed. Movies and TV episodes on the TV also appeared vibrant thanks to sound color reproduction. However, reviewers did have to do a significant calibration to attain the best color levels on the Sanyo Roku TV.

Black

  • The Sanyo FW32R19F does not have a deep contrast, as critics noted an average depth of black levels. In addition, they established that dark scenes on the LED TV look hazy at best.

Brightness

  • Critics felt disappointed with the brightness levels on the FW32R19F Sanyo TV, as brightness was dim even when turned up to the highest level. They also concluded that the TV would be difficult to watch in a brightly lit environment.

Contrast

  • The Sanyo FW32R19F boasts a contrast ratio that stands at 1200:1. Reviewers didn’t appreciate how most images, especially in dark scenes, appeared noticeably brighter than what was expected.

Dimming

  • Critics were not impressed by the lack of local dimming on the Sanyo FW32R19F, since the TV’s low contrast and disappointing black levels could have been improved significantly with this feature.

Gaming

  • The Sanyo 32 inch class 2k 720p Smart Roku TV doesn’t have the best features for gaming, as most reviewers were disappointed with the lack of a Variable Refresh Rate and 2.1 HDMI ports that would’ve made the Sanyo Roku TV compatible with next-gen consoles.

HDR

  • Expert testers weren’t happy that the Sanyo FW32R19F couldn’t render HDR content, as this meant users would miss out on the improvements and rich colors and contrast that HDR content brings. Users that wouldn’t compromise on this would be better off with the Sceptre A658CV-U thanks to its support for HDR.

Motion

  • The Sanyo FW32R19F did not wow reviewers in how well it could handle motion, and despite agreeing that its motion handling was rather decent, critics agreed that it could have performed better if it had a blur reduction feature. They did note a significant amount of motion blur during tests, but reviewers narrowed this down to a minimum after turning on the TV’s Motion Smoothness feature.

Refresh

  • Critics argued that the Sanyo FW32R19F’s 60Hz native refresh rate was not high enough to support fast-paced gaming, and this placed it in the same category as the Samsung UE43RU7020. Casual gamers might be satisfied with the TV’s refresh rate; however, more advanced players might note some screen tearing especially when dealing with more advanced consoles.

Viewing Angle

  • The Roku TV FW32R19F did not give reviewers any problems in terms of viewing angles. Critics appreciated that despite having a small 32-inch screen, the TV is still viewable to a good degree from the sides.

Burn-In

  • Reviewers didn’t like that the Sanyo Roku TV FW32R19F is susceptible to burn-in, but to avoid this, they advise you not to display static elements on the TV’s display for an extended period of time.

Design

Stand

  • Expert testers liked that the Sanyo Class 2K 720P Roku TV is held up by two gunmetal legs found on the bottom left and right of the TV, that were 20 inches apart. However, reviewers weren’t happy that they couldn’t easily adjust it in height or width.

Back

  • The Roku TV FW32R19F from Sanyo allows for VESA wall mounting. However, reviewers felt a bit unimpressed that the TV stuck out thanks to its thickness after mounting.

Borders

  • Critics didn’t appreciate how thick the borders on the Roku TV FW32R19F from Sanyo appeared, as this meant that users might get distracted when viewing content on the TV. The bottom border on the TV was also significantly thicker than the other edges.

Thickness

  • The Sanyo FW32R19F32 Smart TV is considerably thicker than most modern TVs (especially when VESA mounted). While its clunkiness did bother some reviewers, most didn’t have much of an issue with it.

Features

Tuner

  • Expert testers appreciated the presence of an off-air ATSC Digital Tuner, and this allowed them to view local over-the-air broadcasts. They loved the wide range of content available for free, but they also established that the channels received were strongly dependent on a user’s location.

Input

  • Reviewers counted a total of 2 HDMI inputs, 1 USB port, and one optical digital output on the Sanyo FW32R19F, and agreed that the TV didn’t have as much in terms of advanced compatibility that most users would want.

Remote

  • The Sanyo 32 class 720p Smart TV comes with a simply designed remote that’s got a reduced set of buttons. However, reviewers loved that the remote came with direct button access to popular streaming services such as Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, and Sling, allowing users to get to their favorite entertainment fast.

Smart TV

Apps

  • Expert reviewers lauded the FW32R19F Sanyo TV for how smooth its Roku TV app ran, as well as the ease of access to 500,000 movies and TV shows that it provided. The Sanyo Roku TV brings access to top-tier streaming channels plus innovative features that make it very easy for reviewers to find their preferred content.

Streaming

  • Roku TV makes streaming a snap on the FW32R19F Sanyo TV, as it allows viewers to stream content from free or paid channels, as well as top channels like Netflix, Crackle, Google Play, and more, with the streaming quality available in up to 4K quality. In addition, reviewers appreciated that they could easily navigate across thousands of free apps they could download, and search through based on what type of content they like.

Menu

  • Critics found the Sanyo FW32R19F very easy to navigate, as the menu adopted is that of the Roku TV platform, which had settings that were easy to get to and adjust. The Menu also makes finding your favorite entertainment fast and simple, whether users use the remote or the Roku TV app through their phones. Users can also do a voice search across various channels by title, actor, or director, and this is guaranteed to make finding your favorite channels as easy as can be.

Sound Quality

Audio

  • The audio produced by the Sanyo FW32R19F didn’t impress most reviewers, as they agreed that buyers would need to get external speakers or a soundbar for a more immersive sound experience.

Bass

  • The Sanyo FW32R19F Smart TV disappointed reviewers in that it couldn’t produce a lot of bass, so music fans shouldn’t expect any deep bass or treble from it.

Sound Stage

  • The soundstage produced by the Sanyo FW32R19F Smart TV didn’t impress many reviewers as the TV wasn’t capable of 3D surround sound.
