Product Snapshot
Overview
The Hisense R6G is an entry-level television released in 2020. Like many of the best TVs today, this screen features LED display technology along with a 4K ultra HD resolution.
The display offers a native 60Hz refresh rate but utilizes MotionRate image processing to simulate a 120Hz refresh rate. Like the best 4k TVs, the R6G sports a bezel-less design and screen sizes ranging from 43 inches to 65 inches.
The TV also boasts compatibility with DTS Studio Sound, Dolby Vision HDR, and Dolby Vision HDR10.
The R6G is one of the last remaining options in the company’s catalog that still uses Roku TV. This smart platform features a simple, user-friendly interface with plenty of apps available in the store.
If you’re looking for a more robust Roku-enabled TV, consider reading our Roku Plus Series 4K QLED TV review. Otherwise, keep reading below to learn more about the Hisense R6G.
Consensus
our Verdict
The Hisense R6G is a budget 4K television with disappointing peak brightness, measured at 227 nits during testing. As such, this TV struggles to prevent glare in even dimly lit rooms.
However, the TV’s image quality is good, and the colors pop vividly. Since the R6G utilizes a VA panel, it offers an amazing native 5408:1 contrast ratio, which is better than most TVs in this range.
It has a disappointing 60Hz refresh rate, which will struggle during fast-paced moments.
When it comes to smart functionality, the Hisense R6G utilizes the popular Roku TV platform. This smart TV interface is easy to use and snappy, making for a great user experience. If you’re looking for a reliable budget 4K TV without the frills, the R6G is a good choice.
