If you’re looking for affordable, high-quality, smart TV with excellent features, the Hisense H8G Quantum Series are some of the best TVs around. The picture quality on these Android TVs is excellent, and they also have Google Assistant. Other features include local dimming with 90 dimming zones, 700 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision, and different picture modes.

Why We Like It – Hisense H8G

The Hisense H8G Quantum Series uses Quantum Dot Technology to deliver excellent picture quality with a motion rate of 240 and a wide color gamut. It’s also compatible with Dolby Vision HDR and comes with Google Assistant. The series has a range of sizes from 50-inch to 75-inch. You can read our reviews of the Hisense 55H8G and the Hisense 75H8G for the 55-inch and 75-inch models, respectively. Additionally, the Hisense 55H8F has similar specs but only has 60 dimming zones instead of the H8G’s 90.

Pros
  • Voice remote control
  • Android TV
  • Excellent picture and sound quality
Cons
  • No HDMI 2.1 support
  • Slow menu
  • Bland design

Performance

The Hisense H8G is even better than some more expensive TVs and may earn praise for its great performance. It effortlessly displays 4K Ultra HD content, and you can watch TV shows in the best quality possible. This TV uses Quantum Dot technology to make colors bright, in addition to terrific HDR performance. The peak brightness of 700 nits is respectable, and it also has a refresh rate of 60Hz. The sound quality is also fantastic with Dolby Atmos sound. This TV is one of the best buys in its price range and rivals the Samsung UN65RU7100FXZA.

Design

This TV comes in the standard matte black design that looks the same as most other TVs. One of the things it does differently is having extra slots for the legs. This means you can make them wider or narrower to match your TV stand. As far as connections go, the H8G has four HDMI ports, RCA connections, composite video input, and two USB ports. It also has an ethernet port and Wi-Fi to connect to your favorite streaming service. If you want something smaller, check out the TCL TV 43s425.

Value

This Android TV has lots of things going for it. Firstly, the price is very reasonable. It also has excellent 4K Ultra HD picture quality and Dolby Atmos sound. The colors are crisp and vibrant due to the Quantum Dot technology, and it’s also HDR compatible. Two standout features are the four HDMI ports and multiple slots for the legs. The Hisense H8G also has voice control and Google Assistant built-in. This TV offers exceptional value for money that can match the LG 49UM7300PUA. However, if you don’t want to use an Android TV OS, the Insignia 55-inch TV uses the Amazon Fire TV smart features instead. Additionally, if you are interested, you can compare the differences between Android TV vs Samsung TV to see which suits your tastes better. Lastly, the TCL 3-Series allows you to choose between Roku TV and Android TV for your OS, depending on the model.

Hisense H8G Wrap Up

The H8G punches well above its weight when it comes to performance and features. It has fantastic 4K Ultra HD picture quality and Dolby Atmos sound. Unlike most TVs on the market, it has four HDMI ports. You can also use it to control your smart home with built-in Google Assistant. It might look a bit boring, but when it comes to functionality it’s up there with more expensive rivals.
