The Bissell CrossWave Pet Pro was hailed by critics for how well it cleaned stains on hardwood floors. However, while some were happy with its effectiveness when cleaning bare floors, others were pessimistic due to its lack of a HEPA filter and its somewhat loud noise levels. Also disappointing was the inability to adjust its suction power.
The Bissell CrossWave Pet Pro is an entry-level vacuum cleaner that was first announced in 2018. That year, it could have ranked among the best vacuum cleaners for pet owners, but now buyers can choose from many more advanced options for multi-surface cleaning.
Still, the CrissWave Pet Pro does a decent job cleaning bare floors and can tackle small and large debris. It has a 0.45-liter dirt compartment and much better build quality than other Bissell variants in the same category – see our Bissell CleanView Swivel Pet review, for example.
The Pet Pro’s cord is about 25.10 ft long, and at its highest level, it gets to about 81 decibels loud. It cleans both high and low pile carpet, and although it is not the best vacuum for vinyl plank floors, it’s still an excellent option for workshop cleaning.
Consensus
our Verdict
The Bissell CrossWave Pet Pro received praise from critics for its effectiveness in clearing stains on bare hardwood floors. Their tests showed it was easy to maneuver, thanks to a long 25.10 ft power cord and its swivel cleaner head. This gave them an easy time reaching hard-to-clean areas.
Reviewers from Daily Mom were also glad that it uses two-tank technology to separate clean and dirty water to maintain a clean water tank, while testers from Living Proof Mag were impressed that it ships with two bottles of multi-surface pet cleaning solution, unlike what you’ll find out in our Bissel Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus review.
The cleaner’s handle-mounted switch also allowed reviewers to regulate the amount of detergent used when cleaning. Still, its 81 dB noise level proved to be a bit loud for some reviewers, and its lack of a HEPA filter was disappointing.
Many were also not pleased that it couldn’t be used as a handheld vacuum, and they also felt aggrieved that they couldn’t adjust its suction power, a constant of 0.68 kPa.

The Bissell CrossWave Pet Pro comes with a swivel head, making it easier than the Bisswel CrossWave to maneuver around furniture and tight corners. The Pet Pro also has a tangle-free brush roll and a pet hair filter that separates hair and debris from dirty water. Both of these are aspects that are missing on the Bissel CrossWave.

The Bissell CrossWave Pet Pro has an advantage over the Bissel Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Plus since it can clean liquid messes while the latter cannot. However, the Pet Hair Eraser has a larger dirt compartment that can hold up to 0.75 liters of dirt compared to the Pet Pro’s 0.45-liter dirt bin.

The Bissell CrossWave Pet Pro is a little more difficult to maneuver than the Dyson V11 Animal since it is corded while the V11 is not, and it can also clean up liquid stains while the V11 cannot. On the flip side, the V11 does a much better job cleaning carpets.
