Do you know what the best TV for sports is? Well, the answer depends on who you ask, but the TCL Series R655 75-inch model is definitely a strong contender! This smart TV has excellent picture quality regardless of if you are viewing 4K content or SDR content, much better than other Roku TVs thanks to the wide color gamut that Quantum Dots provides.

Performance (Display/Resolution/Refresh)

The most essential part of any TV review is the section about the device’s performance. With a variety of picture settings (such as HDR picture mode or gaming mode), this QLED TV aims to give you the best picture possible on its 75-inch 4K display. Despite having a dark HDR QLED display, the TV can still provide a high peak brightness for well-lit rooms. TCL uses multiple technologies to achieve the best visual performance on the TV: TCL HDR Performance Pro & Dolby Vision. However, the refresh rate is a bit lower than other models, operating at only 60Hz. So, if you want a unit with double the refresh rate, look at our Sony XBR65A8F review.

Sound

These 75-inch TCL Roku TVs have internal speakers, but if the built-in speakers aren’t enough for you, it’s pretty easy to connect them to other audio systems. The 7-Series Quantum TV works with HDMI ARC, Optical Audio Out, and a traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. Because of Roku OS, you can also easily connect it to any Roku speaker, although it lacks any Bluetooth capabilities. If you do decide you want a sound system, but you don’t have one yet, TCL also offers the TV with a 2.1 sound system, which includes a wireless subwoofer for easy placement. But, if you’d prefer to stick with internal sound, try the Hisense 43R7E TV instead.

Smart Features

The TCL 6 Series 75″ TV runs on Roku OS, which makes streaming a breeze. It’s compatible with all the standard streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime Video, but can also use a variety of other services like ESPN or Pandora. It doesn’t have Amazon Alexa built-in (try the Samsung 8 Series TV if you want Alexa built-in to the device), but it is compatible with Alexa, so you can use the television with voice control rather than being limited to the remote control.

Ports & Expandability

This Roku TV has 4 HDMI ports (one of which has HDMI ARC technology, a USB port (for media playback), a tuner, an ethernet port, optical audio out, and a headphone jack (if one USB port isn’t enough for you, try the Sony XBR65X900F). All these inputs and outputs will make it easy to integrate the TV into your current setup. This TV stands 36″ tall on the included stand, but you can also wall-mount the device if you don’t have a wide surface to place it on.

Value

Compared to other smart TV models like the LG CX OLED, which can cost as much as $2,500 or more, this TCL Roku TV is extremely affordable! Costing only $1,500, this is a great purchase because it provides all the features you need for hundreds (if not thousands) less than similar products. It comes with a one-year warranty, although there is no protection plan offered specifically for the device. Scoring 4.0 out of 5-stars based on 47 Amazon ratings, it seems most customers are extremely happy with their purchase.

TCL 6 Series Wrap Up

The TCL 6 Series is an excellent Roku TV that comes at a price that most can afford. While the refresh rate could be better and the lack of Bluetooth is disappointing, overall, the TV is still a great purchase that we would highly recommend. If you’re looking for an affordable, high-quality TV to add to your downstairs den (or outside), the TCL 6 Series 65 will more than satisfy your needs!
