Expert Rankings

A low contrast ratio & gray blacks may discredit the Samsung Q80/Q80A, but a Quantum Processor 4K, low input lags, a game mode, quick response times, high color volume, FreeSync support, Q symphony technology and great viewing angles make the QLED TV worthwhile.

Consensus

our Verdict

The Samsung Q80A QLED is a great choice for gamers and movie buffs, with great viewing angles, FreeSync Premium Pro support, and excellent coverage of the DCI P3 color gamut.

It also has a Variable Refresh Rate, low input lags, a game mode, and a quick response time. However, it doesn’t have great local dimming, so it’s not ideal for dark room viewing. Additionally, its contrast ratio isn’t high, so expect blacks that look gray.
