Performance

The feature packed CX OLED TV has just about everything you could want in a modern television including an A9 Gen 3 chip, much better deep learning, and AI Picture Pro. The sound quality on the CX Series is also impressive if you disregard the Dolby Atmos setting and opt for the AI Sound Pro instead. Two new picture modes, found in picture settings, are Dolby Vision and Filmmaker Mode, are also included on the LG OLED65CXPUA. Dolby Vision is where the picture quality gets an upgrade by adjusting multiple aspects of the HDR content to achieve a consistent HDR picture, or HDR gaming, whatever your viewing angles may be. But if you do prefer QLED to OLED TVs, take the Samsung Q7F out for a spin.

Design

Measuring between 48-77 inches, cx series OLED televisions come in whatever size you think will suit your home. If 48 inches is too small, try the Sony XBR-A1E OLED television which starts at 55 inches. The CX series comes with LG’s magic remote control which allows you to point to on-screen menu options instead of having a cursor navigate. The OLED motion processor does an excellent job of reducing judder without causing the picture to look too fluid (or drop the frame rate if you’re using the TV primarily for gaming) which is always a nice feature. Value

When it comes to smart TVs LG leads the way, and the LG CX OLED TV supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, both built in and both via voice control. You’ll discover new built-in apps such as Disney+ and Apple TV, and peak brightness looks punchier than last year’s model. If app support is important, consider the TCL 55R617. The response time on the LG is near instant, and with a 120Hz refresh rate it’s exceptional for playing video games. Finally, as it is a smart tv, it can connect to your wi-fi to stream YouTube or display whatever is on your laptop.

LG OLED CX Series Wrap Up

LG OLED TVs are most definitely high end TVs, and LG TVs have come a long way since the LCD TVs of the past. You’ll be paying a pretty price for it, that’s for sure, but in order to get the best 4K TV you’re going to have to spend some money. And when it comes to 4K Tv’s, price skimping isn’t a good idea.
