If your router is ancient and not hip to modern wireless standards, you are likely to run into connection issues. Wi-Fi 6, also known as 802.11ax or Wireless AX, is the latest Internet protocol, so if your router maxes out at Wi-Fi 4, it could run into issues. What’s the solution? Unfortunately, the easiest fix here is to go out and buy a new router that can handle modern Internet protocols and fast Internet connectivity. If you have too many devices using your router and wireless network at once, your bandwidth could become maxed out, which would force some devices to disconnect. Take a look at your router’s software to see who is using what and manually disconnect any gadgets that are hogging up your resources. Generally speaking, streaming UHD video, conducting Zoom meetings, and playing online games are all notorious for maxing out the bandwidth.
Your old and damaged cables could be the culprit, especially the Ethernet cable connecting the router to the modem. Go out and buy new cables, even the power cable, and try everything again.
