The G20’s excellent bare floor cleaning and 144-minute battery life make it a good value for users prioritizing convenience and affordability. However, those seeking good pet hair pickup and air filtration performance should look elsewhere.

Overview

The Eufy G20 RoboVac is the brand’s entry-level robot vacuum released in 2022 that has Wi-Fi, Alexa, and Google Assistant compatibility for voice activation. Still, unlike some of the best vacuum cleaners, it doesn’t have a dust-trapping HEPA filter or a self-emptying station.

It uses basic object and edge sensors, an internal gyroscope, and a smart pathing algorithm. It does have an app but doesn’t offer in-app navigational control or sophisticated mapping. It has four power levels and a feature that automatically adjusts suction power to switch between carpet and bare floors.OKeep reading for more detailed info, or browse our list of the best robot vacuums and find out how expert reviewers have answered the question, are robot vacuums worth it?

Consensus

our Verdict

The Eufy RoboVac G20 performs well, collecting 99% of fine dust, 96% of larger debris from hard surfaces, and over 50% on carpet. While it lacks advanced mapping and obstacle avoidance, its affordability, quiet 57 dB operation, and Wi-Fi make it a reasonable value option. The battery life is 144 minutes, longer than average for entry-level models. Its plastic build is scratch-prone, and it lacks a HEPA filter.

With its gyroscope navigation system, it isn’t as efficient as LIDAR-equipped models. It has useful app features, including voice control, scheduled cleaning, and return to home. However, poor hair pickup and allergen filtering make it less appealing for pet owners. Its tested 2500 Pa suction is average for an entry-level Robovac.

ReasonS to Buy

  • Over 96% cleaning performance on hard flooring
  • Above-average 144-minute maximum battery life
  • Low 57 dB noise levels
  • Convenient app control
  • Alexa and Google Assistant compatible for voice activation

Reason to Avoid

  • No smart mapping or obstacle avoidance
  • Mediocre, 47% cleaning performance on low-pile carpet
  • Pet hair gets tangled in brush rolls easily
  • Lacks an onboard HEPA filter

Compared to the G20, the Eufy Robovac G30 offers slightly more automation and convenience features, such as magnetic boundary strips. However, the G20 performs better in some tests, with a 144-minute tested maximum battery life compared to the G30’s 114 minutes. It also has a more powerful measured suction. The G30 does have more sensors and does a better job avoiding obstacles.

Compared to the Eufy Robovac G20, the Shark ION RV700 series performs marginally better on carpet, picking up an average of 60% of coarse debris compared to 47%. However, the Eufy has in-app navigation control and smart pathing, while the Shark ION series makes do with semi-random navigation. See our Shark ION RV700 Series (RV750, RV761) review for more information.

Compared to the iRobot Roomba i1, the Eufy G20 has somewhat stronger measured suction, with up to 40 Pa at floor level, compared to less than 20 Pa. The G20 also picks up more debris, averaging 97% on hard flooring and 19-47% on various types of carpet, while the iRobot picks up around 95% on hard floors.    The iRobot has better build quality and comes with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter. See our iRobot Roomba i1 review for details.

The Eufy G20 Robovac doesn’t have an immediate predecessor, but it shares its basic design with the older Eufy G30 Robovac. Compared to that model, the G20 has improved battery life and suction performance but no longer comes with physical boundary strips.
