Sonos S5 Zoneplayer - 3

Sonos S5 Review

Sonos has long stood in obscurity thanks to its multiroom, multiparty system and hefty price tag.  Now the company is looking to break down the complexity barrier with the Sonos S5, introduced just this past October for $399. In a nutshell the S5 is a speaker system that can stream your computer’s stored music, Internet radio and a multitude of music services (Pandora, Last.fm, Napster, etc). …Continue reading: Sonos S5 ZonePlayer Review

Redeye Unverisal Remote Review Unit - 1

Redeye Universal Remote Review

Is there anything the iPhone can’t do?  Control a car?  No problem.  Feed the hungry?  Just build a successful app and donate the money.  But what about controlling your home theater gear, such as the TV, DVD player or cable box?  Well, now you can thanks to something called the Redeye (and a one other product that has since been announced since its launch).

The Redeye is an infrared transmitter that connects to your iPhone over WiFi (it also doubles as a charging dock).  You can either jack directly into the Redeye by selecting the SSID from your iPhone’s WiFi menu or bridge it to your home’s network during setup.  But, before you get started you’ll need to download Thinkflood’s Redeye app from the app store, which is completely free, but useless unless you have the Redeye hardware. …Continue reading: Redeye Universal Remote Control Review

Pineapple Electronic’s Rumble K Vibrating EarBuds Review

PineappleRumbleK

PineappleRumbleKReview

Looking for a new pair of earbuds?  Look further.  The PineApple Electronics Vibrating Earbuds have to be the most dull earbuds I have ever had the discrete pleasure of listening to.

Their whole gimmick is that they vibrate in your ears to the music.  In theory,  it “sounds” like a great idea, but in reality they make a mockery of sound reproduction with their muddy as all hell bass and almost non existent treble and mid range. …Continue reading: Pineapple Electronic’s Rumble K Vibrating EarBuds Review

iSkin Revo iPhone 3G(s) Case Review

iSkinRevo1

iSkinRevoReview

As far as iPhone cases are concerned, there’s a ton of them.  Which ones are good?  Dropping $30 or so just to try one out is a pricey gamble.  The iSkin Revo tries to do some cool things but, ultimately falls flat in the overall.

The look of the case is modern and it feels pretty nice to hold and grip due to its semi-sticky molding.  The one I reviewed wasn’t fully cut.  It had some exposed pieces protruding from the exterior that effected the grip and anyone inspecting the case would point it out.  Not a huge deal but you can tell the manufacturing was a bit shabby. …Continue reading: iSkin Revo iPhone 3G(s) Case Review

Motorola DROID Review

Motorola Droid - 1Motorola DROID Review

Ever since the iPhone became one of the most ubiquitous smartphones on the market AT&T’s service has just straight up sucked.  In fact, Apple’s Genius bar states that a 30% call drop rate in in NYC isn’t outside the norm.  Shame on you AT&T.  So the next logical question is what is one to do if they want an iPhone like experience, but not the shitty call quality that comes with it?  Enter the Motorola DROID from Verizon Wireless.  Battery life issues aside this phone is the just what Big Red needs to play down AT&T’s competitive edge.

The DROID rocks a 3.7-inch 854×480 capacitive touchscreen.  It’s a bit on the heavy side (169g), but that is largely in part to the slide out QWERTY keyboard.  Build wise its metal body feels extremely solid in the hand; as if it could take a tumble down a flight of stairs and keep on ticking …Continue reading: Motorola DROID Review
